RE: Team placements?

Whenever someone quotes from a website or knows more info than the average person about a particular gym you know it's coming from someone who goes out of their way to make a gym look bad (and it's usually from someone in the area) so I just ignore it.  I think Worlds 2009 is a fantastic goal to have!

All these teams (possibly more) will be returning next year for NorCal San Jose. Ofcourse levels may change, It does not include the Livermore teams.

NorCal San Jose:
Hebe (Youth level 3 or 4)
Morpheus (Junior Coed Level 5)
Aphrodite (Lrg. Senior 3)
Fama (Senior Coed 3)
Venus (Sm. Senior 5)
Apollo (Sm. Coed 5)
Zeus (Lrg. Coed 6)

I think its funny that your advertising teams for Nor Cal because they always do groups instead of teams after their intitial tryouts.

On their website thay have groups. Youth and Jr and Senior (15 - up) but they only have the numbers 100-175. How are they going to make 7 teams out if that? Or are those only the new people?

lol yeah!they don't even put kids on teams until after summer. plus they have different names every year. we arent that dumb. oh ya, i tried out 2 years ago and roy still calls me to go to norcal. hahahahahhahahaha NO.

hahahahahaha GOOD. Stay Away!!!!

I think it is so funny that people tend to slam NorCal when they have the HIGHEST numbes in the San Jose area. Facts people, if you are going to bag on Norcal for their numbers, you better be able to look at the other gyms first.

They must be doing something right if they have the numbers. Maybe the bashers should pay attention

American had BIG first day of clinics.  They do two weeks of evaluations (tryouts).  On the first day they had as many as they ended the season with.  Coaches said that based on past experience with this, their numbers should be way up!  Looks like a great year ahead!

Hope everyone elses clubs see the same growth!

I second!

Being apart of the program for 2 years. No decisions have been made.  We don't know if there is going to be a Mini or Youth team what level. What levels will be coming out of what gym San Jose or Livermore.  Junior, Senior, Co-ed, Open, International.  What is said on the website is incorrect.  It is WHATEVER ROY DECIDES!  Personally I think it sucks not knowing, but Oh well.

I think the levels for each team should be decided on the majority of the teams skill. Not on one or two people. I would much rather a program spend the summer months improving skills to help each member be the best they can and compete at the appropriate level. After the summer, decide what levels each team should be at. Not have lets say a youth level 4 team because one member has a layout or is close on a standing back. It should be about what is best for an entire team and program. Needless to say I agree that the head coach should have the final say on what teams and level take the comp floor. After all, they will be coaching and choreographing those routines and athletes. Just my opinion.

No offense against Nor Cal but there are other gyms in this area.  I don't think anyone knows what teams thier gyms will be fielding at this time.  I'm just curious if everyones turnout was ok.  A lot of people are unsure where the economy is going right now and I'm just curious if gyms are feeling the effect.  Right now just keeping your existing numbers I think would be great.

considering they are the only ones that offered a college team and a midseason...yeah.......but they also had the most crossovers. get over it...it's also sad that they do not communicate- obvisouly if roy decides later, they shouldn't post it on their website..

if you are going to count numbers, maybe you should count the kids that actually PAY

I agree EVERY gym shoots for worlds especially if they have made it there before.  Nor-cal haters need to realize that they have made it the past two years in a row to worlds so by shooting for worlds again isn't a bad thing.  They are a well respected team and about the crossover thing.  It happens in more gyms than you think!  I don't see anyone complaining about it so why should anyone else care.  Just let the gym run things the way they choose to and worry about your own gym.

I am willing to come forward and say that we (Airborne) use crossovers.  whew I feel better, jk.  Who cares why or how many you use.  If the kids want to crossover let them.

Nicole

I think everyone should have goals! I think it is great that they set their goals high so that the kids work that much harder to make sure it is an attainable one. Best of luck Nor Cal! Hopefully in 09 you will compete BOTH times...aww

Great! gym owners are starting to feel as if they need to stand up, state their name and their use of crossovers!  Looks as if Nicole may have been spending time with me at Promises.  ;)

I agree, many gyms use crossovers, it's perfectly legal so letitgo!

But you also don't see Nicole BOASTING about the number of kids or the number of teams she has....crossovers are cool, but not if you are going to say you have more kids than you actually have, just to get more to join you
