Well I can bet since this is a expose by the "E" channel it will not be flattering. Comon people this is the same program that gave us an hour of the truth behind Brittany Spears, and child stars gone bad. I'm sure the story out recently about the High School Cheerleaders ambushing and beating up there friend, and if I'm not mistaken didn't some High School Cheerleaders make news recently due to bad behavior when they were drunk. Oh and you can bet that there will be the added buxum pro cheerleaders thrown in the mix. I would love to see a program about All Stars that showed how dedicated and how hard they work. I just know this is not going to be it.
Actually you're wrong. It did focus on injuries quite a bit, and then the issue of uniforms, just a little on the "cheerleaders gone wild", but even through the injuries they showed how dedicated and hard working these girls are, and their passion for the sport. And they ended it on a high note, following a team while they won 1st at a Nationals competition.

Really, so that is better. We are maybe a little over protective when it comes to our cheerleaders and the reputation we want to keep with them . Because they are the extreme athletes and I don't think alot of people can truly appreciate what these young people are all about. I love them, I love watching them perform! They amaze me! ( A former cheermom and now gym owner! )
I actually like them in these pics. But when I saw them in the THS I noticed that it was not very flattering for one of the bigger kids. It also doesn't look like a "cheer" uniform on the floor.
I feel sorry for your daughter, unless she's also happy you are leaving the gym (unless I misunderstood, didn't you say you are leaving because of crop tops, even though they have leotards underneath)? Something so trivial should not be a deal breaker, but it sounds like it might be the best for you AND the gym to leave. There are so many other issues to leave a gym over, this one I'll never understand. Good luck to you.
This show was VERY negative. It didn't really have both sides, just a bunch of reasons NOT to cheer. Seriously wearing a crop top is not a deal breaker for me. I have bigger fish to fry than that. If it keeps my daughter occupied and she is staying physically fit, then I am fine with it. I can name 20 other things I find horrible about society that others might deem "fit". Get over it!
its on now they had cheer athletics on there ohio cheer force and pinnacle cheer but they showed a lot of high lights of the competitons were you see a lot of teams if you have comcast its on now channel 64!
Does anyone know where you can get those backhandspring leg straps and backhanspring machine that were shown?
Good questions and i think on the pinnacle cheer one they showed a flyer being tossesd but it look liked she was wearing a padded protected vest so if she fell sht wouldn't hurt her chest or back i think all gyms should consider to get them sp if your flyer falls she wont get hurt
I don't see that catching on (the flyer vest). Maybe something lighter worn underneath a uniform, but that thing looked like she could use it for water skiing too.
Overall I think this program was pretty good. Of course, they sensationalized the injury/tragedy aspect and I could have done with less of that, but aside from those segments, I like that they covered all aspects of cheerleading from the foundation and pop culture association, to high school and college programs, to NFL type entertainment-based teams, to all stars and the extreme aspect of competitions. I wish they would have included a great level 5 program and Worlds. I think they also could have used the opportunity in the injury segment to highlight the fact that high school and college teams don't perform on spring floors, and they are tumbling and stunting on inappropriate surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, dirt track, grass and wood gym floors.
