Wow, it sure does say clear as day "2nd" and congratulates the Cali, "the other team who placed 2nd." Maybe its true, if so Congratulations PRO SPIRIT and I'm sorry that you didn't get the recognition that you deserved. 2nd is certainly worth celebrating. 3rd is also but claim what's yours. I doubt that its not true but why would Worlds allow a tie and if they do, why wouldn't they openly recognize it. I'd be a liitle miffed if my kid tied for second but the team was listed as 3rd.
Aaron Flaker and John Newby did announce that there was a tie in Small Senior and in Small Coed. They did this after the awards ceremony. They announced the teams involved and then the methods that were used to break the tie.
I haven't seen anything after that to outline a reinstatement of the tie, but I'm guessing Pro Spirit filed a complaint about it.
Pro Spirit Senior 5 Ties for 2nd at the Cheerleading World Championships
Pro Spirit just put the exclamation point on an amazing year. Not only did the gym have its most successful year to date, the Senior 5 team tied for 2nd at the Cheerleading World Championships in Disney World. Pro Spirit was one of 57 teams competing in the Small Senior division. This was the largest division the Cheerleading Worlds has ever hosted. After going 13th in the preliminary competition, the Senior 5 team placed 4th going into finals. Thirty teams were taken to the final competition. The preliminary scores were thrown out and every team started with a clean slate. The team knew they would have to hit their routine with the incredible teams that were before and after them. They did just that. Executing their routine brought them to 2nd in THE WORLD! Congratulations to California All Stars who was the other 2nd place team and to Stingray All Stars the World Champions. With no team member graduating, we are already looking forward to next year (Watch out).
Wow thats a shame that the usasf did not recognize their win as 2nd place. They will never be able to get that moment back. But A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU PRO SPIRIT.
Acedad your thoughts on this please. Why would they want to break the tie ? If both teams ended up with the same score AFTER deductions why would their be a further need for a tie breaker ?

Thanks AceDad. So to further clarify, the WAS a tie but it was broken and the placements are as listed - Cali 2nd, Pro Spirit 3rd?
I copied this from the proX board, posted by psParent...
"Our owners were just notified that IASF would be recognizing the 2nd place tie in Small Senior for Pro Spirit. We are very honored to share the tie with California All-Stars, they are an amazing team and I was very impressed with them both days!!! We are equally proud of our girls, they have been working hard and hit their routine both days, they were awesome!!! The best part is we have no graduating seniors on our team this year, so we will be back strong for Worlds next year!!!"
"From my understanding, both teams had the same final score on day 2. The tie was broken by a deduction, however I know our day 1 score and our day 2 raw score were higher. I believe they realized that a deduction may not have been the best way to break a tie, especially since everyone now competes on Saturday. They have therefore decided that both Pro Spirit and California All-Stars would be Silver Champions together!!! We are proud of both teams!!!
So does that mean CheerForce diamondz are the bronze champions ?
Wow, I want to know that one too. Does everyone move up???
I just read on the PRO X board that in the case of a tie the third place would get skipped so that means No bronze champion in that division. Too bad because that would have meant CheerForce would have medled 3 years in a row at worlds.

What a classy way to handy the situation by the staff at Pro Spirit. I think they handled themselves with intergrety! Way to go and congrats to your team on such a great come back. Watch out next season indeed.
I am soooo glad that pro spirit spoke up for themselves. I was wondering when this mix up with the usasf scoring would really come to light..Great Job Pro Spirit
