Any moderator can tell if 1 anonymous poster is the same anonymous poster by looking at the IP address.    I have seen many anonymous posters where the same person will either tear a gym up or toot their own horns while making it look like there are others that agree.
I have also seen numerous posters accuse anonymous posters of being from a certain gym but after locating the IP address I was able to see where the person(s) were posting from and I could tell that that person was not from that gym at all.

Yeah, I'm sure a moderator can tell if messages were coming from the same IP address.  But I was wondering how anonymous #3462909 can tell the message from anonymous #51095 was the same anonymous as the one that posted from anonymous #1500456.  I guess like the anonymous one that posted right after me stated...for some reason people just like to make assumptions.

Okay, (I'm not too computer savy) are people other than the moderators able to view someones IP address?  Not that I really care, but that's interesting.....maybe it will stop some of the drama on here?  Although than it's not really anonymous any longer...

I do not believe this is accurate.

if you share files with someone...say like on Limewire or Kazaa you can view their IP address...its not hard at all, you just need to know what you are looking for

This happens to us too, because there are a few who post from our household, and most of the time we don't know who has posted what.  I know that they don't all share my views, so I could easily see a post showing up with a particular ip address, followed by another post disagreeing with it, but having the same address.  They don't always tell me they are posting because they know I'll tell them they should be busy doing other things (like homework)!

biggrin  Tongue in check reply....we are all on different websites so I can't see ISP confusion from a single househouse....poker site, webkins and then cheer boards.  None of us cares enough to go to the other's site.  It's cool that y'all are so close that you are all posting on one thread.  Sounds like a sitcom episode.

...now that makes 3 gyms within a 20 mile radius I cant imagine how all 3 will succeed in the area. How are the other neighboring gyms doing as a result?

Aren't there All Star Cheer bi-laws in place that stipulate that a gym can't open within a certain proximity to other gyms? If so, is it 20 miles or it it a greater distance? 20 miles is WAY to close. I would imagine the gyms would deal with quite a bit of gym hopping and/or ostracize people who do creating unhealthy rivalries. Is that the case or is it more civil?

in So Cal, OC and PAC are less than a mile away from each other. they are also 7 miles away from Magic and 15 away from California Surf. i think quakes is also really close.
Titan Elite and Pace are about a mile apart
California Flyers and SCV are about 7 miles apart
CA Camarillo and CheerForce West are less than 14 miles apart
CheerForce West and VCSC pride are less than 3 miles apart
and thats just naming a few

I don't wish those close numbers on anyone.  You know it gets ugly and is a fight.  Coaches are kissing certains talents butt's and parents know this so they say "oh we are having a hard time paying for cheer"-they know the coach will be like-ok you don't have to pay.  It gets real messy.  Be thankful if you don't deal with this and if you are from a small gym-it gets real ugly at some of the large gyms.

It's by-laws, and that is within the organization.  You can't control business going in across the street from another gym.  Free enterprise.  Try to track!  Tell me your not a blonde!

My take is, if new gyms are popping up, more power to them! As far as EDGE, since reading these posts, I have been asking around Elk Grove to see what information I can find. From what I hear, their season will start at the beginging of June. They are not practicing at a dance studio, but holding practices (on mats) in a warehouse gym of their own. They will only have one senior team this year. You are correct about the youth cheer coordinator heading this gym up, but the other coach is a USA staff member (she has been coaching for a while around here because she coached my friends daughter back in the late 90's). I don't know how they are keeping their costs down, but they are much cheaper than the other gyms in the area! I will keep any new information posted when I hear it!

they will be practicing in a warehouse that the jr. program also practices in.  Looks like the jr. program cheerleaders will be sharing the cost of the facilities this season.  You are correct they do have about 5 mats not a spring floor.  I wonder if the jr. program side of things will have an issue with this once they see the entire picture.

Can someone explain to me the by-law thing.  I would really like to hear from other jr. cheer coordinators, jr. coaches  on this issue.  How is it ok for this coach to be affliated with an all star program and a jr. program?  And what would the league say if one of the other current gyms were to take over the other local jr. organizations?  It's a concept that really needs to be discussed.  Just imagine the other allstar programs taking over Sheldon or Franklin programs?

Who is the USA coach?  Is this the coach that used to coach at the royal and Franklin high School?
