I'm so sad to report that this weekend at Worlds, "I lost my digital camera". Saturday morning around 7:30 a.m. I put my backpack & camera case down while I was handing out some waters. When the bus arrived, we all loaded onto the bus and exited when the bus stopped. The moment I stepped off the bus I noticed that my camera was missing. At that very moment I started making phone calls. They told me not to worry that the bus that I was on was going back to the hotel, and that they would check the bus when it arrived.....Nothing! Within 5 minutes I had called the Hotel also asking them to check the bus stop that I had been picked up at....Nothing! (This bus stop was just for all the cheerleaders/staff/family---Not for everyone entering the park.) It just saddens me that someone picked it up and that they didn't turn it into lost and found. I couldn't help but look around me and wonder, "Does someone on this bus have my camera?" Yes, it was a nice camera but that can be replaced. It was the pictures (200 ) that were on my camera that I cared about. Well, If one positive thing came out of me losing my camera, it was being able to teach my 13 year old daughter how hurtful it is being on this side of the circumstance. I know for a fact that if any of my children found an item that wasn't theirs, that they would turn it in....Not a doubt in my mind! (We have done it many times.) What do you think the true consensus is out there? Finders keepers?
Sorry to say but I think its about 50/50. A couple of years ago at Worlds 2 girls from our team had their backbacks stolen. One was returned with everything in tact, as someone picked it up by mistake and returned it to security but the other was never to be seen again. From now on I always have my daughter keep any valuables with me since backpacks are frequently left unattended at competitions. Unfortunately have seen this happen more than once at competitions.
Did you ever check with the usasf office near celebrity hall...I lost mine in the milk house and it ended up there! Goodluck with your search!
Nicole Airborne
Thank you Nicole! I did make a report at Magic Kingdom (They said that all items turned in go there.) I also made a report at my Hotel. Thank you for letting me know about Usasf near celebrity hall; I will call them tonight!

I would never keep it. I once found a ladies purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot at Albertsons and I called her and waited for her to come and pick it up. I also got 20.00 extra in the ATM once and I went into the bank to return it and they looked at me like I was an idiot.

In my eyes NO. When you look at someones 200 pictures on there of their little CP's or kids or whatever and keep it, well to me that is like stealing someone's memories and you should realize that. I would do whatever it takes to find the owner.
There is thing called morals, apparently you don't have them like many others.
