RE: Worlds, Home Field

i dont think theme parks should have anything to do with where worlds are held. i think as long as its a big city, there will be plenty of hotels. such as my list i put up earlier. oh yeah, i would like to add New York to the list. how sick would that be?

Worlds from Madison Square Garden

I don't see anything wrong with alternating between Anaheim and Florida.  Speaking as someone who came from California the cost is tremendous and it would be fair to alternate the cost.  Anaheim has a great convention center with plenty of additional seating and additional rooms to compete within walking distance of each other.  The parks and comp venues were so spread out in Florida that we had to choose between which of our teams we wanted to be there to support.

As well it would be nice if in the future the "international" teams could compete in an air conditioned, enclosed venue instead of the open theatre complete with heat and humidity they competed in this year.  Not everyone who comes to Florida is used to the climate, nor are they used to competing outside very often.  Just a thought...

And I DO agree -- Top Gun is amazing to see in person no matter WHERE they compete!  The energy and excitement when they hit the floor was indescribable!

wow that'd be amazing!!! to say that i performed at madison square garden.. that'd be really cool! or even to say worlds was at the georgia dome. i agree.. worlds does need to be changed up a bit.

and to whoever said that home field advantage doesnt make a difference.. TRUST ME comming from a cheerleader... it does! i know my team should be amazing reguardless of how many people are cheering us on or not, but the crowd support and noise level just makes us want to put on that much more of a show. its much more fun that way. thats why i personally hate performing at the anaheim convention center, because the crowd is so far away and you feel no "energy" on the floor.

so what do we have to do to get worlds moved around?? a petition or something lol sounds like majority is saying move it around so i think it could work!

Maybe this is something the NCAA (or whatever they are) can take on  - alternating the location of Worlds?

It would be soooo cool to perform at Madison Square Garden, wow.  Alternate between Florida, CA, NY, TX, GA.  For starters, just alternating it even between two different locations (and time zones) would be nice, and really there is no excuse for NOT moving it around, right?   I'm afraid they may have already booked the same vendor for years down the road though, I know these things have to be reserved way in advance.

Although I'm on the W Coast and would love to see Worlds here, fact is that it's much more expensive than Florida - even though both are Disney resorts.  And although NYC would be totally cool, can you imagine what it would cost there?  NY is one of the most expensive cities in the country.  Food and lodging alone would probably double the cost of going to Worlds.

Top Gun is AMAZING!! In a league all their own!

to be honest i thought california was better and should have won..dont get me wrong topgun is amazing, however they had the same exact routine all year, had obvious mistakes and iMO didnt have the same performance and energy as ca..for me..topguns choreography seems to perform for them...And of course topgun had the advantage of their screaming fans and their name alone...arabian to split shouldn't make u a world champion.

I would love to see worlds on the west coast. My daughter performed 5th in her divsion. We got in friday at 2 in the morning with a morning practice. She hadn't adjusted to east coast time, so basically she pulled up sat. @ her 2 am and performed @ 5:30 am. If they don't choose to alternate, maybe they can pick times by your various time zones so if you didn't get to adjust it isn't so hard on the athletes.

NEXT YEAR WORLDS SHOULD BE HELD IN EGYPT SINCE THATS WHERE THE FIRST PYRAMIDS WERE BUILT. OR IN IRAQ, JUST BECAUSE WE HAVE OUR AMERICAN SOLDIERS THERE TO SUPPORT US AND I COULD SEE MY BROTHER. HOW ABOUT AUSTRALIA?

Thankfully my daughter had a later performance time, but I really felt bad for the West Coast teams with the early call times.  It did seem to put them at a disadvantage.  USASF should give more careful consideration to putting West Coast teams on first thing in the morning.

Wow, that's funny.

DisneyWorld is the only place to have the World's Cheerleading Comp.  It is also the greatest place to take the athletes.  Amazing place.  E
