Why are they keeping it a secret ? Why can't they just close the doors ?
this reminds me of a gym that closes about this time last year. the gym owners took new registration from their clients and turned around and used the new fees to pay off old debt, put a note on the door that they were closed and then just left and moved to another city. the customers were so angry that they called an area news station and the clients were interviewed on how they lost all their money and the owner walked away. if this is going to happen in the same fashion and there are people out there that have a good idea that it will happen SOMEONE needs to say something. if the gym owner is reading this YOU need to make right by your clients. do not do what the other gym did last season nothing good will come out of this. it's not fair to your unknowning clients to take their hard earned money and keep it for your gain or repair your mistakes creating bad debt. ETHICS is right here do the right think and not shaft the customers they don't need to turn away from cheerleading and stuff like this just gives gym owners a bad name. i will pray tonight that the owner does it right.
You know his for fact or second hand? If your that concerned have you approached the owners and if so what do they say.
Yeah, be sure of your facts. About this time of year, there are lots of rumors that float around usually started by someone with their own agenda. You could really hurt a business spreading this around if it's not true and I believe that it would be called slander. I would address the owners themselves and try to get at the truth of the situation, if possible. If it is true and they are collecting money with the intention of running with it then shame on them.

i really do not believe that the first post is nothing more than someone being worried. the post doesn't state anything that would suggest that this is the doings of ONE specific gym. now if the poster came on the board and said GYM X is currently deceiving their cheerleading parents then yes there could be a case for slander if this wasn't true at all. but I am not reading this to be the case. we can look at it as a helpful note and maybe we should ask our gym owners to be on the safe side. hopefully the gym owner will do what is right for all parties involved.

How would this be possible ? Can't you take the owner to small claims, and get your money back? It just dosn't seem right that they could just take your money.

I need to set the record straight. This person above obviously does not know what they are talking about or was not in any way involved with this program. I am the parent who was on the news about this gym. I jumped ahead of things and reacted out of my daughter being hurt and not having her gym to go back to. I have apologiesed over and over to this family and the owner for my behavior. I am very thankful that this owner is forgiving. I was upset. This owner did not take registtration and close the doors. There were only two families who paid for the next season in full and we got our money back excatly 30 days after as she put in the letter and the email that went home to all us parents about closing the gym. The doors did not just close either, we all recieved avery nice letter and an email form this owner. Thanking us for the many great years together. I know this because when i called the other parents to ask them to be on the news with me, none of them had paid for anything. I am the one who contacted the news and let that horible story run on this gym. I have said my sorries to them. God has a way of humbling you, because the very next motning after the story aired that night, in my mailbox was the refund from the gym owner along with a nice letter telling us how nice is was to have such a wonderful family in thier program and that she wishes us the best in the future. In that letter was reccomendations to other gyms to try. I have felt horible as you can imagine for so long about overrreacting. This person provided a safe place for my daughter and she gave and gave to so many and I learned that on my quest to get back at them for closing the gym my daughter loved. I have not been able to find a place for my daughter after this gym closed that nurtures her self confidence or cares for the children like this owner. The person who wrote the above message obviously was not partof this program or is just trying to strat trouble, because oif you were you would know that I sent out an email to every family saying how sorry I was for my behavior and the crusade I was on. To the parent who is wondering about your gym closing, just go to the owner and ask. remember that the econonmy is so bad right now and maybe they thought they could keep their doors open but cant now. dont burn bridges or over react like me. to the person that wrote this message, I pray that you please get your facts staright. I got my money back and a piece of humble pie. take care everyone MC Family

Why does this matter? Who cares? Does every company that closes make a public announcement or do they just do it when they decide to. You obviously are someone who needs to mind thier own business. Why do you even care? How does this impact you?
I might add that there are many gyms out there that keep their information private I am sure it is because people like you go onto these websites and make problems for these people. Is it a "deep dark secret" or just "life in this industry". I would like to know why you would even start a post like this. There are gyms opening up everyday and closing every day. By the way I hear there is a new merger coming in Norcal has anyone heard about this?

I don't have a clue about the gym and it's business practices. This doesn't impact. If it did. I would be so incredibly upset. Here's the reasons why? IF I were the owner of this gym I would have assessed the situation back in the winter months. I would have determined if it were feasible to remain in business through the end of the competition season and then be able to continue another FULL season. I understand things happen. but it's important to keep your clients fully aware of the situation. businesses do go out of business everyday. we see "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS", "LUQUIDATION SALE", "OWNER QUIT" signs, etc. the point is these business are notifying their clients and the clients are FULLY aware of an end date.
