RE: Economy and Cheerleading

I am sure Airborne isn't the only gym that is thinking about the competition fees and travels this season.  I know in our gym (UCF) WE parents were handed a potential schedule(this season) and we are asked to share our comments with the gym owners as well.  After all, the competition expenses are truly outside the gym costs and our gym is not profiting from these comp days.  The ones that are making the money are the competition hosts, local resturants, hotels and gas stations.  I do appreciate my gym and do understand they absolutely are sensitive to the situation as well.  Thank you UCF!

I think both of these organizations are an inspiration in that they care about how costs are affecting families.  They are asking for input and offering options.  I think it's great and I hope that's the trend with other gyms as well!

I'm sorry UCF parent.  I didn't mean to offend. aww That post was geared toward a few gym owners (I had specific owners in mind) who don't seem to think this is about the client.  In some gyms fees weren't lowered in any way.  Comp schedules are the same, maybe heavier, along with a few extras even (mandatory fundraisers).  I really do want these owners to see that there are gyms out there who make it happen for themselves AND the families.

Kudos to UCF for a job well done!

Any other gyms want to share 'saving' ideas?
