Oh good lord, there are hundreds. A lot of people don't realize it but if you do your research there are TONS.
Not tons of full rides though. I believe I read a stat that said that there are only about 60 colleges that give those. But there are tons of scholarships in general.
I know here in Cali theres San Diego State, Cal State Long Beach, Fresno State, and Azusa Pacific University. Im probably missing some.
USC gives small scholarships also but their cheer teams aren't exactly "cheer." There's songleading and now a spirit squad that isn't allowed to tumble. Only stunt. They have a club team that competes but i don't believe they are given anything.
Maybe you want to get more specific? Competitive, non competitive, ect? Or do you really want to go there? lol
Why are you so negative? Yes we can all do the research but I thought it would be nice to help each other out. On the other thread I read that there are lot's out there so I started this one to give everyone a headstart.
Only a negative person would think that I was being negative.
I wasn't saying to do your research, like I said people do not realize how many scholarships are out there and so they say that there are not many scholarships in cheer.
Geeze. I was more than happy to provide an extensive list, just wanted to know what kind I should provide and how detailed.
But thank you for jumping down my throat for no reason.
I am sure there are alot of parents who would love to see your list. Please post.
Would it be more helpful if it was sorted by state, by amount (full ride, partial, book stipend, early registration, etc.), by type of college (university, college, jc), or by type of program (competitive, sideline, both, types of cheer, etc)?
I just don't want to throw information out and have it be unorganized and confusing or hard to search for in the future.
Although UCLA does not offer a full sports scholarship, the university does offer a small (possibly limited) private scholarship to its cheerleaders as well as many other benefits.

I'm in my last year at UCLA and just finished up my last season of college cheer with Bruin Athletics. Although UCLA is not a competitive nationally ranked cheer squad, it is a team that truly shapes and molds its athletes into successful and driven adults. I've been able to travel the WORLD with my team, witness record breaking moments in history, and have found a love for my school that I don't think any other sport or activity could have instilled in me.
However there is always an underside, UCLA is a very very competitive school to get into, being the most applied public University in the nation and admitting a freshmen class between 3 and 4000 students. I hope our parents are remembering to motivate our kids not only to excel in cheer, but to excel in academics as well. Good luck everyone and hope to see some fresh faces this fall =)
My daughter made the SFA lg coed squad for 2008-09! Out of state fees waived and partial tuition scholarship! Axe'em Jacks! Going for 6 straight titles in 09!
I would like to commend Bethany Jackson from POWER. She was just named the GSSA Cheerleader of the Year and received a $1500.oo scholarship. She has cheered for POWER for 10 years and is now off to SFA in Texas. Also, Jennifer Friedrich received an $800.oo awards from GSSA as well. Every little bit helps.......
These girls are awesome and I was lucky to coach them.

What happened to the list?
I apologize. I am not on here very often. I should have let everybody know what was going on. Im starting from scratch.
I created the list a good while ago (about 2 years I believe) when I was getting ready to transfer. Never did, but boy did I do my research lol
The original list is very extensive, but is missing . It looks like Im going to have to do all of the research all over again, but I'm more than willing to if everyone really wants it. I know from looking that the info is hard to find.
It shouldn't be that bad if I maybe start with Cali or maybe a certain type of scholarship or squad.
I'll have something up next week or sooner and just keep adding whenever I find new info or something changes. I might create a screen name so that I can just edit it.
