I find many girls up here (Nor Cal) do high school team due to the social reasons, rather they are a competitive or non competitive high school. If she truely misses all stars, she will join again before her senior year. Also check at your gym if there is a non travel team so she can do both.

Oh wow that is very late for school practice. Most high school teams practice 330-530 or 4-6 PM.

I am hearing this a lot this season.  A lot of girls are leaving All Star and going to try out or have tried out for high school teams.  One girl is a level 5.  However, the highschool comp team is really good.  It doesnt seem highschool is as demanding.  I tried to get my daughter to do highschool this year...she's not going for itwink

My sister took her daughter out of allstar cheer because of all the travel and the time commitment involved. Boy was she upset when she later learned that highschool cheer was a bigger demand on her time and the HS team still traveled out of state to compete.

ha ha sis I told you so.

Love your much younger and wiser sister

I guess it depends on the highschool too. My daughter does Allstar, and my step daughter does highschool.  Doesnt even compare!  Although her comp team doesnt travel out of state. Her practice is sixth period, and tues and thurs after school until four and she's done.  Her comp team practice's Tues and Thurs until six.  And they only do a few local comps.  So,needless to say, I guess it all depends on the school.  My daughter practices two days a week and has tumbling, privates and flight school.  Sometimes more  practices depending on when the comp is, and if the team needs more.

If the high school has a successful sports program, it will also be more time demanding.  They may need to attend games and playoffs, and may be required to attend multiple sports.  My daughter had to attend football, boys and girls basketball, water polo games, volleyball.  On top of that, they had practice after school and a competition season.  She made the HS Varsity cheer team her freshman year. She only did HS for one year, and went back to allstars.
