Wow that is a good point. Nothing against OC Allstars but it is interesting in regards to what the competition company did. Because it was not fair to the other teams entered in the division. I doubt that they were asked in advance and creating a new unapproved division after the comp had started only because a complaint was registered was definatley not ethical imo but would it have been okay with everybody else if it were done beforehand or would OC have had to come up with an eligible flier ?
I think the least controversal thing to do would have been to either take the stunt out completely or use another flier.
I agree. Many teams have rechoreographed due to injury/sickness. The competition company should have remained consistent with the USASF rules/divisions. Why have a governing body if no has consequences or rules are "bent" all the time? I think it makes American Championships look extremely unethical.
I know the ppl at OC and the ppl at Amer. Champ. and the competition company was NOT aware of an illegal person competing nor would they have allowed it, OC tried to pull one over... however Amer. Champ. SHOULD have DQ'd OC when they found out about it, NOT given them a Nat'l Title for cheating! Not cool.
OC is a large program that paid a large amount in entry fees to American Championships-does all this mean that the more you pay the more you can cheat? I would also think that out of all the teams that gym has there would be one flyer that would be of legal age to put in the air with a 4 week notice????
Obviously OC had written documentation and proof or else why wouldn't have they been disqualified? Sounds like they were able to prove their point. The competition company obviously had to try and make right, even if it was wrong.

how is it cheating of american championships said it was okay to go with the younger athlete 4 weeks ago, and then repeated it when it was brought to their attention again by another competitor in the division? oc was given the choice of staying in the division or stepping out of the division, oc decided to step out of the division to not cause any more controversy
my god who cares its not that big of a deal if its not one team then its another this board is getting really boring all it is is bashing and complaining lets focus on what this board was made for there were some amazing teams there this weekend i was blown away with some of the talent i saw way to go cali we are really stepping it up
That was really big of them to step out of a competitive division to be handed a gauranteed national title in a made up just for them division.....
Oh come on! This isn't OC's fault at all. Do you really feel it would be better if they stayed in their original division?
I would hope, although I don't know if this happened, that the comp only awarded OC champions because their score was higher than the teams in their original division
it is oc's fault because they decided to put someone on their small senior five team who did not meet the age requirements which By the way, she was not even 10. their was no letter sent because if their was, amercan championships being 1.) a varsity competition and 2.) a member of the usasf they would not have allowed it. It was also american championships fault however that they came up with a division that never existed. OC should have been disqualified but instead they were rewarded with the banner trophy an jackets.

It doesn't make sense that you would use American Championships being a Varsity competition as the reasoning why the letter didn't happen, and then in the very next sentence write that AC (the same Varsity competition) created a non-existing division.
I think it makes sense that there was a letter written, why else would AC open up a new division? They messed up, knew it and "fixed" it.

I don't even know what happened, but this is what seems most logical!
