My opinion on teams competing late into the night = greed on behalf of the competition companies. Not only are you at a higher risk for injuries but what about the fact that it is a school night and those kids if they stay for awards still have a long drive home.

Oh yes some of you might say well those kids can sleep in but have you ever tried sleeping in in a hotel crowded with noisey parents and cheerleaders walking by your hotel room door . They don't have a clue that someone might be trying to sleep in.

I really think 8:00 pm is the latest any team should be competing.

As a mom this has definately been a concern from time to time. My daughter knows that in order for her to stay in cheer she has to keep her grades up because there will be weekends when we are at a comp. until 9 pm and then we still have a drive ahead of us and we may have to make the decision for her to stay home the next day. But I agree...it seems a bit much to have teams competing after 8pm....

This one was pretty late. It usually is though...being the last one of the season before Worlds. However,I dont remember it being this late, or maybe it just didnt seem like it last year.
Does anyone know what the results were for small senior 5? I have to say, I was very impressed with some of the out of state teams! Wow. Maine Senior 3 was very good. Happy to see they got the sportsmanship award.

Teams were competing past 10:00 pm on Saturday. That is just foolish imo. I have always loved American Championships but these late comp times need to stop.

Shame on American Championships for catching OC competing with an illegal aged athlete on their senior 5 team and instead of penalizing them on day 2,the choose to create a division that does not exsist for the second day and putting OC in it alone for the second day and crowning them national champions. Way to support teams that cheat.

I too thought the comp ran too late. My child wasn't cheering but I wanted to come just to support friends and too get my last fix of cheer comps (local). But when I saw the schedule I had to make the decision to stay home. I wish I could've been there though. I love love love Cali Lg Coed and heard they performed like no other. But I still don't regret having to hang out with the owls to see them. Guess we'll just wait to see if someone posts a video of them and so many of the other great performances I heard about. aww

Please don't start this. I'm the person who said they couldn't go and can't wait to see if someone posts a video. I want both CF, Bladez and CA kids know that I heard that nothing but great things about all your performances. There's no reason to turn whats sounds like a "save the best for last" local comp into something negative. All of us in California love all of you!

Remember...it's time for "Worlds." It's time for California gyms to stand together. Last year at Worlds it was great to see California teams cheering on California teams. I can't go this year but I sure would love to hear that the same exemplary sportsmanship was displayed.

I don't think you realize this but by making the comments that you are making you are either proving that you are children or you are adults who are not acting like adults. These boards are not here for this type of foolishness.

Maybe there should be an age limit and/or satisfactory psychiatric evaluation that must be submitted before being allowed to come on here.

Never thought I'd say this but I wish there was a way to identify these people. I don't think they'd be so vocal then. Please don't respond that you wouldnt change your posts unless you're willing to sign the name on your birth certificate from this point forward.
