We all should have known of course POWER they seem to always have it perfect.. Boy I tell you every time I come on here the answer is always power. Yes there teams are fantastic hands down, but with that comes a lot pressure and maybe some stress. There are lots of other cheer teams in california that are just as good as Power. I really enjoy watching there teams and I admire there cheerleaders I guess I am just a little tire of the answer to all it Power. There is more to a gym then just winning all time. You build friendships with the coaches, parents and other kids in the gym. I love are gym they may not always have the level available for my dtr to cheer on, but that doesn't mean she has stopped developing her skills. Last season she was on a lower level team this season all the girls have the required skills to move up to a L-4 and there skills are rock solid. So I am glad we waited a year for everyone to develop solid skills and to preform them safely.
You know I use to be one of those non-believers that was always so jealous of what POWER did. I would swear up and down that they were "stacking" teams ... I mean when we lost to them, it was always easier to assume they cheated. I have come to learn that they are probably one of the ONLY organizations that is places athletes on their age AND skill appropriate levels. Trust me, I have been in this business for a long time, as has my family and I am 150% pleased with how John and the staff at POWER has ran their program. They honestly have the girls placed in their right levels. I am excited to start my new venture with their family. I understand that your gym may be the best fit for you and your family, but boy am I glad I switched. I will now be able to see teams that are in their appropriate level. I can already see the rapport with the coaches and families of POWER, placements this past weekend were amazing, I met some great families even though I was worried they weren't going to welcome me in. I am excited to win and form new bonds with new friends (the people at the previous gym STILL talk about me -because I chose to try out POWER ... and they were the ones who claimed to be my friends. Thats not the definition of friendship!) And going back to levels, this is the same for Cheergyms, although we all may have not liked how they didn't have level 5 teams in their home gyms (just through AA), teams are supposed to compete where they max out their points .... not just barely skim the bottom of that level (which is what my previous gym did). Whether you choose to admit it or not, the reason that people were so mad at these teams this past season was because they won and we felt as though they should have been in a higher level. NO, these teams performed well by performing the same skill level as your team, they probably just had more people do it. I hope this makes sense! I dont want to confuse anyone or make people mad, but its true. It took me a long time to realize this. I am sorry for being one of those people that use to think certain teams were "stacked". I NOW realize I was wrong. *sigh* I'm tired now!
When was anyone complaining this year that Power should have competed in a higher level?? I am glad you feel you were wrong and went to power, I am sure your previous gym owner is glad to.
I dont see the complaining about power either :/ maybe it was the "We all should have known of course POWER they seem to always have it perfect" comment? Im lost hahahaha. I also need a nap! Darn these message boards for keeping me so addicted!!!! hahahaha
What about when the child has all the level 5 tumbling but has nothing to offer the team in the stunting department. The jumps to tuck, standing bhs's to double, Running pass ending in a double. But is way too small to base and she flys but refuses to do level 5 skills like double downs and kick doubles. Do you put her on level 5 to just tumbel or do you hold her back untill she willing stunt at the level 5 level also?

Great question. We had the same situation this year. Was your athlete transitioning over from gymnastics?
My daughter is going to stay where we are. She does have level 4 skills and is on a level 3 team. She loves her coaches and her friends and I love where she is. Are their any gyms with every cheerleader true to their level/team. I have not seen one yet.
This is the best comment yet. Think about someone else. It is just selfish to only think of yourself and soon as you get a skill want to move up. I really believe they should be seasoned skills because with each touch down there is a deduction. Some girls think they have the skills before they actually have them. Remember they need to have the skills perfected. Also what about the committment to the team and gym. Does anyone realize the coaches work hard for little money to make these kids great cheerleaders. To just bail on them very very sad and selfish. a Non team sport is best for these kind of people where they are only depending on one child.
