CheerForce and So Cal Elite Outlaws, two well respected & successful all-star cheer programs in California, have joined forces effective immediately. The Simi Valley location will keep the CheerForce name under the leadership of Shawn & Becky Herrera. The Poway location will keep the So Cal Elite Outlaws name under the leadership of Christy Dart & Jennifer Kwappenberg. The combined strength of CheerForce & So Cal Elite Outlaws joining forces benefits all our teams from our beginning Level-1 thru our advanced Level-5. Our combined strength is now 15 teams & 350 kids, with the 2008-09 season being even bigger.
Both locations will now gain from the combined knowledge, experience, talent and creativity of both staffs. The CheerForce staff has a 7 year track record of success, and the So Cal Elite Outlaws staff has a rich history of championships dating back to the start of Champion Outlaws in 1994. Both locations now reap the benefits of everything from the unequaled tumbling results of coach Carlos Norona, to the out-of-the-box creativity of legendary choreographer Ray Jasper. Our combined resources create a powerhouse program, unmatched in California.
Widely regarded as one of the best cheer tumbling coaches on the west coast, Carlos Norona will be our Head Tumbling Coach. Carlos was a co-founder of the World Champions Miami Elite and has the tumbling Midas Touch, turning tucks into double fulls with the greatest of ease.
An icon in the all-star cheer industry, Ray Jasper will be the Head Choreographer for our program. Ray was a co-founder of Champion Outlaws and became famous as the originator of the West Coast Style of cheer. From his work on blockbuster movies to his choreography of NCA & Cheersport National Champion and World Champion routines, Ray is one of the most sought-after choreographers in the country. Rays original and exciting style of choreography will give our teams an unparalleled advantage for years to come.
CheerForce has brought home the Bronze from the Cheerleading Worlds the past 2 years, and this year is once again taking three teams (Jr Coed, Intl Coed, and with a full paid bid.Sm Sr). So Cal Elite Outlaws brought home the National Championship title from Cheersport last year, and this year the Senior Coed team is once again attending Worlds with a full paid bid. Between both locations, we have four teams attending the 2008 Cheerleading Worlds.
Wow is right! With Ray and Carlos working together and all of the other great coaches these teams will be OFF THE HOOK!!!!!! Both gyms have been very successful but now the sky is the limit.

Really, Cheerforces skill with So Cals Choreography. Now Thats Sick!
Do you realize who Ray and Carlos are? Ray coached most of the CA staff when they cheered at Champion and Miami Elite was unbeatable in their day. Socal and Cheerforce are so lucky to have this team. Congratulations to everyone who gets to be coached by these two amazing coaches.
I am so excited right now!! Congratulations to both gyms you will be a force, I can see you rolling to a competition now 15 teams deep, people will know your in the house.
So basically they are sister gyms. Nothing changes in the way of ownership or names....so nothing has really changed. Good marketing tool though, it may fool some, but I think most people see this for what it truly is, just a ploy. IMO of course.

You are two SEPARATE clubs with different names! Who will still compete against each other. I don't get it at all, really people.

i don't think they would need it as a marketing tool. they're both great gyms. and sister gyms usually don't share coaches
yes they do that's why they're called sister gyms to help each other out. bottom line here is they are remaining exactly the same with the same owners same names no one bought anyone so what their "friends" whoopie doodah so basically it is more of an "alliance" than anything else. call it what is stop sugar coating it.

Since I know Shawn Hererra is on this board often deleting posts, can he please explain the reason. It kind of seems a little desparate. I think Cheerforce maybe should be, but I am a little sad that Socal did. They didnt need it. They were making a name all on their own. Let me ask you this, If other teams have Ray Jasper do their routines too, does that mean they are joining up with Cheerforce too ?
You can have all the negativity you want but next year when you see what they put on the floor you will have nothing but admiration for both of these programs.
