Nor Cal Cheerleading seems to be DRAMA. WE have gyms sharing kids, people who are "merging" or buying, but in my opinion still will struggle. Just seems like people don't know how to run their gym, practices, or competition teams correctly. We had more kids in all stars 5 years ago, now with Worlds, everyone wants to just be ran buy someone else in hopes to be amazing. Doesn't work like that, you need to put in the time and effort.

In response to "we had more kids in all stars 5 years ago" in my own personal opinion, I believe the economy may have something to do with this (not entirely but in part). The past two seasons I heard so many families struggling with the fact that cheer is just something they can no longer afford and it's devestating to have to tell your daughter that. Yes you can fundraise, but people are struggling to keep their homes in this mortgage crisis, people are struggling to keep up with the price of gas and the price of food, families are dealing with layoffs or the possibility of layoffs. It only makes sense for smaller gyms to join forces and talent pools.
Like I said, the state of the economy plays a part in retaining cheerleaders. The rest is the ultimate responsiblity of the gym owners and how they conduct business.
Be positive, if someone takes over another gym, give them a chance to be successful before dragging them down, remember it's comments like yours that create the "Drama in Nor Cal"
Exactly, thank you! Why create more drama with comments like "will still struggle in my opinion"? I hope they all prove you wrong. Good luck to the merges in both Northern CA and Southern CA, they will only make your gyms stronger.
