Not just our team, the scoring of one team seemed really high for the skills they put on the floor. None of us understood it. I don't want to say team names, so I won't. These aren't sour grapes, it was just painfully obvious that the teams in a certain division had no chance of winning.
I hope your not talking about the youth division. They were VERY impressive!

I don't see how it could be youth, they all seemed to be separated by fractions of a point from one placement to the next. In fact, it doesn't look like any of the divisions were a great point spread at all. No team took first by leaps and bounds. hmmm...
"I saw some great sportsmanship and quite a few entertaining routines. A long two days, but fun. My only complaint is the long breaks. The awards on?Sunday night could have been much earlier if you take away those breaks, right?"
Give us some positives, then, since you saw some What caught your eye?

An example would be gyms cheering for other gyms. Girls in the restroom wishing other girls from out of state good luck. I don't keep a list of who is from what gym, it was just nice to see.
I completely agree with the post that said it didn't have a Nationals feel to it, everyone was walking around during the performances, sometimes stopping to chat right in front of us completely blocking our view. Nobody from Jamfest ever announced for everyone to at least TRY to stay in their seats during the performances. It was very distracting.
But I'll end on another positive, I liked the chinese food they had there! It was nice to see different selections than what I'm used to seeing.
I would like to thank All-Star Elite for coming up to Pyramids Senior 4 at the end of the competition. You guys have been great competitiors all year long and I truly appreciate your sportsmanship! You're all truly an AMAZING group of athletes!
Also, backstage before All American Co-ed went on, Emeralds had a little "high-five" section for us as we walked up to go onstage, that was pretty awesome too. It was nice to make friends from teams I haven't seen before, or in a long time.
I wanted to send a thank you out to All-Star Elite who showed the most sportsmanship I have seen from a team all season. My level 3 team from Pyramids has looked up to your girls the last two months as a team they wanted to look like. To have your girls come up to them after awards and congratulate them was really meaningful. Thank you so much! Also, a thank you to their coach who came up to both Jodi and myself to congratulate us. Thanks for being such a class act. I wish you all luck next season.

Wow! I witnessed this and it made me cry. Those kids were so genuine. We love you pants guys.

Just because the spread wasn't big doesn't mean the scores where right. And no it wasn't youth.
I know what division you are talking about, it was the senior four. The team that won shouldn't have won the skills they had put on the floor, let's be honest the teams that won it the senior 2,3,4 shoudn't have won..they havn't won but one or two comps this year, how can you call them national champs, just because all the good teams, were not there....jmo

Please tell me you are not saying that Pyramids Senior 4 should not have won their division???? You may be bitter if you are from the other program...but don't disrespect the girls and all their hard work. They won it fair and square, (and what an accomplishment when they are small going up against a large team). They did not make mistakes, others did and it cost them. That is how it goes. Congrats to Pyramids Senior Black!!!! You girls rocked and made us all proud.
I've avoided these boards most of the year, I don' t need to get into drama with Annonymous but I am going to say your statement sounds like someone who is just upset they didn't win. Pyramids Senior Black (so called 4/5 team) have been bashed and abused all year without any voice and I'm hear to say let it go. This so called 4/5 team is the truest a 4 team could be. They have been on the heals of Powers large 4 team (and our team of 18) at every competition they've competed against. It's been friendly and exciting all year. They've lost by less than 1 point at each of the competitions they've competed against and it's made them better.
If you were knowledgable about the scoresheets you would know size doesn't matter. It's a skill and quantity based scoresheet. These ladies worked hard and had two great days and deserve to celebrate their win. We enjoyed the battle with Power and continue a great relationship with them. I know this isn't from someone at Power because they are classy kids that like my kids have enjoyed the battle and try to avoid the "drama". So, please leave the negativity off these boards unless you have something constructive to say. Now the season is over and we can move on. Senior Black enjoy your win - you deserve it!

sour grapes parents should not be allowed to post.

I don't recall the name of the Senior 2 team, weren't they from Nebraska? They were very good.
As for Cheer Xplosion (Senior 3) and Pyramids (Senior 4): they have won more than one competition. So even if it's true (which it's not), why should that take away from the fact that they won? Should teams not be allowed to win at Nationals if they have only won a single competition?
I'm not following that line of thinking. All those three teams did very well, and deserved to win.
Congratulations pyramids senior 4. I am not from pyramids or power, but both of those teams are amazing!!! Hands down two of the best gyms in nor cal. Pyramids 4 you guys have been bashed all season long and have held your head high. You deserve to win. Like I always say on any given sunday anything can happen. POWER is amazing and any team that can beat them it is an honor. POWER and pyramids were the teams to beat, they were constant all season and put togtether really strong teams. Which all gyms should do. Its not about how high of the level you put on the floor, it is about strong competitive teams. Power senior open level 3(level 3 yall) was off the hook this season. they put out practically unbeatable teams this season. Pyramids senior 3 coed was basically unbeatable as well (another level 3 squad). so instead of complaining about who should have won etc.... put out your best level correct squads and fight for that national title. i only hope that all the other gyms in norcal have learned from these two gyms on how to put together real, true level competitive teams. Because in the end of you are not competitive then you are not giving the customers what they pay for.congratulations pryamids, congratulations power and we are coming for you!!!!!
All I can say I had a great time at this comp. I just hope that cheergyms has a true level 4 jr. team next year not a level 5 competing in a level 4 division. I saw awards I could not believe how many of those girls had All American shirts on for awards!!! Shame Shame.
I would like to congratulate Pyramids Level 4. I've seen you compete with POWER's 4, lucky me, 3X. I must say Sunday's performance was awesome. That was the best I've seen you guys. So much energy and you guys looked like you had a blast out there. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
I am from POWER and have nothing but great things to say about Pyramids Senior 4. They rocked this weekend and should be nothing but proud. It has been a blast performing with you guys this year. I really think we put a mark on the level 4 division. I know that we ( POWER) knew that at any competition it could go either way and that was so exciting. I know that I will remember this year and how we "battled" and remember how fun it was. Grat job ladies and see you next season.
I really enjoyed this comp. Loved the music journey, miller, poison loved it. I am done with apple bottom * super man. I mean really done. From a parents stand point it was a great comp. I heard it is going to move to Long Beach next year is this true? I thought the scoring for the most part was right on. Saw great sportsmanship and good food. Loved the Taco's. It was nice to see the teams from different states and canada. I like seeing the different styles.

Thats funny that you say that. Many teams in those levels have one way more than one competition. I was sitting behind some cheer xplosion moms and I heard that Cheer Xplosion level 3 is undefeated in their level and has one grand champs 3 times along with 2 sportsmanship awards. They are National Champions, same with pyrmaids and other gyms. so im not exactly sure what your talking about.
As far as Pyramids Jr-4 post I am with you on that. That was B.S!! Just say it like it is the Jr- All American Team that was what that was not a Jr-4 team it is a Jr-5. They are amazing to watch. I don't want to take anything away from the kids they are great.
