Hot Division of the season....

What division is going to be the hot trend of 2008-2009?

I have heard several coaches talk about Jr International.  Is this true?  If so, why?

one of the lower levels i certainly think will be "hot" next year will be small senior 4. teams keep creeping up into this division and they are pretty good. This divisin seems to grow larger every season.

also, youth and junior two along with senior 3. when will these divisions not have competition in them?

Small Sr. 3 and Small Sr. 4
These always seem to be the biggest divisions.
I also think that Lev 5 teams will start showing up more and more.

just stating the facts... most level 4 teams elsewhere have squad standing backs and majority fulls... which is more than i can say for half of the "level 5" teams in cali

agreed... and as a coach in california i would just like to see more gyms keep their squads in the division they belong in rather than putting a non competitive team in level 5... thats what is keeping cali behind

I can understand your statement.  For you as another Cali Coach, what for you qualifies a team as level 5 tumbling, for me its Majority team fulls, combos and doubles, Jumps to tucks and at least half the team with standing bhs to fulls, do you agree?

ok i was posting as anonymous but now im logged in smile... i totally agree (majority as in 3/4)... but the sad thing is that coaches try to put teams with nowhere near that skill in level 5... thats not fair to your customers or the kids... i think coaches need to familiarize themselves with the uca and nca scoring and difficulty grids while forming teams and choreographing routines

I agree.  If you dont base your routine or the composition of your teams off of scoresheets than you are only doing your program harm.  I think of course those are the times when you think that certain kids will attain certain skills within a time frame prior to season.  That is why we ended up moving people around and merging our Senior 4 and Junior 3 to make Senior Open 3.  Sometimes you need to be strong enough to say 'this is what is best for the majority of the kids' sometimes I think that coaches or owners feel pressure to do what parents or kids want when it comes to levels.  That is why we see teams with maybe five layouts competing level 4 and other kids on the same team without a BHS.  Stay strong coaches!!!
