I cannot believe it is almost the end of the season. it felt like i just got home from cheergyms.com summer camp. its going by SO fastttt.

At AP we do a number of things during the final week at the gym before nationals. Here are a few of our yearly traditions;

1. The whole week before nationals we have combined practices with all of the teams (except tiny's) for like three hours. we run routines and cheer all of our teams on. These practices are so fun because everyone is so ready and pumped up.

2. Prior to nationals we have a countdown of practices left written in huge font on our mirror.

3. One of our practices during this week is dedicated to the twelth grade seniors in which they give a little speech to in front of the whole gym and gives advice to the younger athletes. It's kind of like a cheer graduation. (can't believe it's my turn to graduate cry)

4. we have our candle lit ceremony the last hour of the last practice. For the candle lit ceremony we turn off all the lights in the gym and sit in a circle with our own team, we all have candles and we tell our teamates what they mean to us and then we lite each teamates candle. It's really awesome! its like the ultimate team bonding.

5. Also at the last practices the coaches present great speeches to us reflecting on the past season.

It's a great way to get excited for the final competition. We also have an end of the year banquet and watch our end of the year high light video.
