Wow, what a long weekend it was. I think all the teams and programs did great throughout the weekend. My favorites were Power both Small and Large. I feel Power large was slightly better in the Super 6 but Power Small was more consistant throughout the weekend. I loved Cheergyms All American team but thought they might have dropped down to 4th after the stunt fall and sloppy and times. I also enjoyed watching Stars Extreme and thought they would have moved to 3rd, I think they had 2 or 3 hands down on tumbling but there jumps and stunts were strong.  Nor Cal was fun to watch. We love the boys on that team. And American was good in the Super 6. They looked to struggle on day one and two and barely made it and did pretty good. My standings would have been:

Power Large 1st (prize money)
Power Small 2nd (partial paid bid)
Stars Extreme 3rd
All American 4
Nor Cal and American about even for 5 and 6th.

I would have liked to see Airborn and OC round out this competition. Airborn had some problems on day 1 but on day two they looked good.

All American was in 3rd for Super Six. Stars extreme was forth they got the at large bid because AA already has one. it was very confusing when they announced it so i can understand why people were confused on placing.

Again, this is just my opinion.

I've read this thread before it was cleared and there are a lot of things that I want to say that I know I can't...but I just want to thank EVERYONE yesterday for their amazing show of support for us and our kids. The cheer world can be pretty volatile at times and I know up here a lot of us coaches and owners have had our differences and the kids occassionally talk smack to each other at school and whatever...

But yesterday we had some people in our corner that just floored me (and you know who you are, haha)...you never know who your friends are until you find a common bond with someone.

We are fine, we will be fine, and of course our kids are fine and SO ready for next season and what's coming. We will see a lot of you at Jamz!

On behalf of myself and Holly and Jody and every last one of our kids, THANK YOU.

Best of luck on your joint venture with Legends on creating Fame Athletics. I'm sure it will be great.

Long Weekend . I need a t least a week to recover.

Highlights:
I really enjoyed the crowds for the Super 6. All the teams seemed so supported and I would of loved to be a part of that. The energy was electric.

I enjoyed the follwoing performances the most:
Power Senior 4: can those girls be more entertaining. they seem like they have the most fun during a routine. They were so clean. I have loved that routine the whole year and they just dont ever dissappoint.

Cheer Odyssey- I really like their Junior 4 routine. Lots of talents and spunk. Was not sure of the placement. Would of thought they would be a little higher.

Motions Coed 4.- They are just so talented. How can you not de drawn in that. I thought their pyramd was very dynamci

Power Small and Large 5- Both teams left me with my jaw on the floor. they seemed like cheering machines. I dont know how they put together routines like that but more power to them. good luck at worlds

Agree completely with the above...especially Power Sr 4, they were incredible both days...loved it!

I would add to the list Powers Sr 3, nearly flawless performance both day and grand champs! Also, love San Jose Legends Sr 3 team, better every time I see them!!

OC did a far better job then Airborne.  I think Airborne is good and yes they did have their problems  both days but their routine is stuff everyone has seen before at worlds.  It's almost a collaboration of past worlds routines in one. Part of going for worlds is showing creativity, I feel that Airborne lacks this ONLY in their level 5.

Sorry but I have to agree with this.  Usually Airborne's teams wow me with something different and creative (like their senior open 3 team), but I didn't see it with their level 5.  It was the same stuff we always see, minus the difficulty they would need to be a worlds caliber team.  But major props to them for trying and they will only get stronger.

I personally thought airborne was very good on Sunday. On saturday they had problem and looked kind of nervous. But I love their opening tumbling and their stunt sequence. Good luck airborne at your next competition.

Does anyone have video's from the super six. I missed Stars Extreme and Cheergyms all american team and want to see both teams so bad. I heard they both looked great. I would also like to see the other teams too.

And what was different and creative about OC and NCE?  At least Airborne inverts and releases in the elite section.

i felt really bad for the Airborne girls. I know that they were pretty disappointed about being last place in senior 5

Of course they felt bad.  Who wouldnt.  I dont agree that Cheer Odyssey coed scored higher than OC,NCE and Airborne.  They dont have true level 5 skills like those teams have.  I think the judging was a little off in my book.  But dont feel sorry for Airborne.  They are not a bad level 5 team.  Things just did not go their way this weekend.

What do you mean they dont have the difficulty? They inverted in elite and then put 5 groups up, did kick doubles like everyone else, flips arabians in the pyramid and has, combination passes and doubles.  What is not difficult about that. Oh and lets remember that they have one to fulls too.

You havent been getting their score sheets all year, the judges love our routine and just because gssa didnt does not mean they are not a fit level 5 team, give me a break.

It is obvious that not much faith can be put into GSSA judging or scoring yesterday. Or lack of scores in the Super 6 division. But somehow it all works out. Kids seem get over things much faster than adults do.smile.gif

The orignal poster talking about Airborne wasn't saying "THEY SUCK!"  They were pointing out that Airborne is not worlds material.  The material they use it what has been seen many time before at worlds.  That is all.  They were saying that they didnt have difficulty or they didn't have the up to par stunts, they said they weren't in the same level for worlds.

AS FOR NCE.  I am sorry I am so sick of everyone bashing NCE, they looked so good this weekend.  They had a lot of energy and I personally love watching them.

AA  Co-ed team.  The first time I saw their routine on Youtube, LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!  I was excited to see them at this competition.  Loved the routine BUT BUT BUT BUT, the MUSIC WAS SOOOOOOO ANNOYING.  How many times can you put cheergyms.com/now introducing/best in the bay and so forth.  It was distracting to me and I HATED IT!

You guys act as if the points were really far off in that division.  It came down to a touchdown or the height on baskets.  Dont bash us , we are trying as hard as everyone else.  Sorry you didn't like our performance.  Others have and we like it too.

GSSA is over, can we please just close this TOPIC already?  It seems to be getting a llittle off topic and rough to other teams.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism.  Just because it's about a team that usually doesn't get mentioned in a negative light doesn't mean we should close the topic... other gyms have had to endure it, I'm sure they can handle it too.
