Some cheer clubs post their team's results on their individual websites. Now we all know these days getting first in a division when you compete against no one doesn't make you a National Champion, but what exactly does this mean...... RUNNER UP TO NATIONAL CHAMPION???
1) Could it mean you didn't get first place and just couldn't say 2nd?
I am so tired of gyms self-inflation of egos. It is what is, the lifecycle goes round and some days you can't always be on the top.
This is not meant to be a bashing of gyms, or a negative. These days negative posts at this site seem to be pulled almost in an instant. But when the truth is spoken somebody doesn't like it.
i also dont like when teams put NATIONAL CHAMPION runner up!although sure you are runner up but you got second, and whats the point of saying runner up? this is not a beauty pageant where teams must fulfill their duties at being champions or the second place team will take first. whatever, at least they post their results.

Kind of sounds like you have nothing better to do then go trolling on other gyms websites who you clearly have a problem with. Why don't you grow up. Oh btw I have heard announcers say ,"and our runner up with a score of ... is (name of gym)
So what do you say if you got a competition that is billed as a National Championship and no one is in your division? Does that team put on it's website national Champion? First Place? or does it just not post anything at all because other teams chose not to go to that competition?
First place at local competition but only three teams showed up and one of them was only a first year team and the other team had a lot of injuries so even though we got first, we probably did not deserve it.
Won National Champion but it can not be compared to the AOATC big three of National Championships of NCA, Cheersport, and Jamfest Super Nationals so we did not accept the hoodies, and donated the trophies to the teams that should of won if they had of hit/been judges correctly.
Because we did not compete against any of the AOATC top 25 teams in the country, our whole season stunk so we are not posting our results because it really does not matter.
Won first place in Regional competition but we put all our level 4 on a level 2 team since that was our weakest team.
Ok...done for now...rofl!
Honestly, reading some comments on message boards no matter what you put on your website, someone will find fault with it. It is not enough to win, but you have to win against substantial amount of teams, substantial quality teams, and at an "AOATC" approved competition before you can post it on your website these days. Do I think what the original poster alluded to was disingenuous? Certainly do. But when gyms are being berated by other local gyms and on message boards for not "running with the big dogs," not going to certain comps and winning certain places and using that against them as a business/marketing strategy, I understand the word play, although I do not agree with it.
i dont like when competition companies post the wrong results on their websites as they are usualy the major source for people to actually look for results.
i dont like when competition companies post incorrect results on their websites as that is where majority of the people look for placements at that event. Really bothers me and teams work hard to place where they do.

sorry, first time it said i had the wrong key, didnt mean to post twice.

Seems like this year many companies are only posting results, not scores. Too many teams have been robbed of the true "thrill of victory" by questionable math. This allows wrong scores to be posted by fans who may have written down the wrong score and arguements about with no correction from the people who did the actual scoring and tallying. And I am quite sure companies are tired of being bombarded with phone calls and e-mails about how they messed up the scores.
Has there even been one competition this year where there have been zero scoring issues?
OK, maybe I'm an idiot, but what does AOATC stand for?
No you are not an idiot. AOATC stands for Arbiters of All Things Cheer.
These are the self appointed rulers, experts and "talking heads" of our sport that live on every cheer message board who are never satisfied with any event, any judging, any competition (except the Cheer Holy Trinity)and any program other than their personal favorites. If you win a bid to World's at any other event than an AOATC approved event, it don't count for nothing so you can not be proud of the fact you won it.
No matter who won, somebody else's routine was "waaaayyy harder" and should of been credited for that....so what if they did not hit it.
If their team did not win, the carpet was the wrong color, the sun got in their eyes or the team that won somehow cheated.
If you don't compete at the Cheer Holy Trinity of NCA, Jamfest Super Nationals-Indy, and Cheersport, your program is so not worth talking about.
The only level that matters to the AOATC is Level 5. All other scores and competitions mean nothing.
They regularly post downing everybody and can not understand how you would not track all of your level 1 team's competitions and competitiors for the past year to see if anyone was sandbagging.
They will try to catch your program in a rules violation - including calling other gyms and competition companies to advise of a potential issue "in the name of maintaing integrity" but scream bloody murder if you catch them doing the same thing.
They don't know why you are not training your child to be a level 5 tommorrow and that you are being cheated if you are not at a gym that is not flying across the country to every major event just to prove you can hang with the big dogs.
If it not about World's then why are you talking about it.
They bemoan the watering down of World's with too many teams but would cuss if every team was forced to pay the true cost of getting there with zero discounts and all the teams that actually "paid" for World's were no longer there to pay for the competition.
If your program did not get a paid bid to World's you should have left your program by now and go to another gym that only want's to be seen as the best in the World.
They YouTube every upcoming team not just to appreciate the routine but scanning for sandbaggers, making assumptions on ages, and in the most crazy circumstances...taking things they have seen other teams do and all of a sudden come up for an idea to do the exact same thing in their routine! (***If you gonnna do that, don't lie about it when called on it***)
They constantly tell other gyms how to run their businesses.
Anytime a team drops a level or changes a dvision, it is automaticaly assumed to be sandbagging. Never because of injuries, kids quitting or relocating, routines not hitting due to loss of skills, etc.
All it is is honesty mixed with sarcasm and run amuck. Rather than post all of that and my thoughts when it is appropiate, just to get deleted or banned I just say AOATC. When people pm then I tell them what I mean.
