this year has been totally different at the comp, the judges from dance are.different from cheer, today has been a stressful, fun, nail biting, exciting day!
some of the teams in mini divisions you know the kids were over 8, it was so sad to see all those tiny ones compete against those girls in the wrong division.
someone from another gyn should have questioned them.
but other than that all the performances and scoring and placements have been right on
any word on the performances? any falls or anything
I will be happy to update you on the level 5 division. I normally have a pretty good memory, but its been a long weekend so far, so cut me some slack if I foul up here.
Mac's - unbelievable. I feel that they had a great opening, with about 6 standing fulls and multiple three to doubles. They had great energy, sharp dance and one drop that was a clean drop in the second elite section.
Pride Athletics - Did not see them, but heard they hit solid, no deductions to speak of but some girls popped passes (3 ).
Fierce - The best performance they have had all season in my opinion. The flexibility was great and they were clean, some tumbling issues. They were really nice backstage. I hope they get a bid, they have worked really hard.
Airborne - Spacing issue in the first elite, dropped leg flexibility, timing off in basket and pyramid. One touch down on a new full, go Hailey, we are proud she wont have to throw it for the first time at Worlds. The girls mentioned that they felt like the music was really heavy on the base and it was hard to hear...but we shall see. Day two seems to be best for us, we like to call them the 'comeback kids'
Fusion - Great tumbling, dropped stunt in the elite section.
Victory Cheer - Some tumbling issues other than that nothing else went wrong. Good job girls.
OC - Multiple falls in elites , some touches and a pyramid fall/no go. Was hard to see from the side I was on. Great Tumbling.
Spirit Athletics - They had 5.0 in deductions. They had multiple issues with stunts and had the least amount of level 5 tumbling skills in our division. I liked their dance.
Large 5
American - About 10 times cleaner in tumbling then at GSSA. They look great!!!!! Great flexibility.
West Coast Extreme - Good performance, had some tumbling touches, but has added more difficulty since we last saw them. They also add some fun stuff in the tumbling section ( stunts ).
Cheerz - Such good stunters. They just lacked the level 5 tumbling.
Coed 5
Stars Extreme - So clean today. I watched from up high and they were awesome. The best yet this year.
Supreme- Clean, safe routine.
Cheer Odyssey - Really clean, I am not sure of the scores but I would think that supreme and them are close. They have about the same amount of kids on the team and the skills are similar.
That is all I have for you. Oh and by the way, they take the best score from both days to figure placements and bids.....so you can use the best one!!! Goodluck everyone, I am headed to bed!

That was yesterday. Today everyone had much better performances so I feel the the rankings may change. No one was perfect but today was a much better day in terms of teams looking more polished. The only complaint that I have is that we competed at 11:00am and do not have awards until 6:00pm.
