Actually CV didn't have any stunt falls, we just had one tumbling touch down in our front handspring fronts, one mess up in our jump section, and maybe a missed tuck in the tumbling, I think that was it. But anway, fierce did have a good routine, I love their opening stunt combination. Well today I felt that a lot of programs did an outstanding job and we really enjoyed the competition. I have never seen so many solid routines in one competition. Congratulations to everyone, and enjoy the end of the season.

Me too. I think a lot of teams had a few problems, but we live and learn. It was a fun comp.
Small Junior Level 3 1. California Quakes 2. HSC Warriors 3. West Coast All Stars 4. Action All Stars 5. DVAS Mavericks 6. Elite Cheer 7. California Surf 8. CV All Stars
Small Senior Level 2 1. Victory Cheer 2. West Coast All Stars 3. Fierce All Stars 4. CV All Stars 5. California Bombshellz
Small Senior Level 4 1. West Coast All Stars 2. Pace All Stars 3. CV All Stars 4. Fierce All Stars 5. California Surf 6. RC Club Cheer
California Cheer Gym (CCG) had a clean routine, had good difficulty for their level (not jam packed) and deserved their 1st. They are not normally real strong in the cheer world, but I have seen them progressively get better. Now, their hip hop program has been VERY strong over the years and I always enjoyed watching their routines from the mini's to the senior teams.
I was disappointed at the senior 5 routines. No one seemed to hit a clean routine. I was hoping to be awed by Calif Flyers, since they had a bid to worlds. It just wasn't anyones day for that category.
I agree, Fierce sm 4 had sloppy everything (tumbling, stunts, transitions, etc...) , however, their sm sr 3 should have won.
This is rude, especially if you did not see the routine first hand. Once again, everyone does not need to be overly critical. Dont throw stones, if you have ever missed a pass, touched down or made a mistake you have no room to talk.
definently fierce small 3 should have won. and small senior 4 should have gotten 2nd. West coast 4 was really strong and clean and deserved the first, but fierce did not deserve 4th in small 4 and 3rd in small 3. Fierce has so much more difficulty than everyone else. Yes they were sloppy, but there routines are so much harder. I did not see pace, I saw that cv did drop a stunt. Rc was clean, the best ive ever seen them, with 1 stunt fall. Fierce small 5 has done better and so has flyers. I dont know it just didnt seem like a fun competition. No teams really stood out.
Some competitions consistently reward difficulty, so if you have a fall or two you can still beat someone with a simple routine. Others will go the complete opposite direction and will reward simple and clean over difficulty. So if you know which way the competition you are attending tends to go, you can either tone it down a bit to keep it clean, or up the level of difficulty. Just my opinion based on what I have observed over the years. Of course if it's one you've never attended before it's a gamble. That's one reason (and probably the only reason) I like two day competitions, you can see which way the judges are leaning and then make adjustments on day 2.
Yes this competiton was a little off. I didnt like the high schools in with the allstars, that was very confusing. I think alot of placements were off also, Fierce was very sloppy though.. but they didnt drop. .so who knows what happened? Every team had trouble. Pace looked clean and Victory too, so did Fierce's Coed. They performed so well, The girl that does the fulls and is in the front for the dance is such an amazing performer and dancer! I have a feeling that team is going to get big next year. I never heard of california gyms before, and they were pretty good for my first time seeing them. I liked the competiton , wish it was a little bigger. I still hate the venue, and hated the 18 bucks to get in!
yeahh alot of teams had mistakes. didnt seem like a comp thats so close to the end of the season. i was really hoping rc would hit clean. theyre a great team and seem to have struggled this season. pace and west coast were both very good, i knew it would come down to one of them. i was expecting a great show from flyers sr5 too but i think they were better when i saw them at cheerpros 2 months ago. i thought this would be a good competition because 3 companies put this together but why didnt they have a full size floor in warmups? they had one at cheerpros state championships. and what do you guys think about how all the teams competed for free (no entry fee)? i think it could've been better if they charged a small fee ... i know cheerpros and spirit club both gave nice jackets at their comps so why not at this one?

I AM SO GLAD OUR GYM DECIDED NOT TO ATTEND THIS COMP.... SOUNDS LIKE WE AVOIDED SOME SERIOUS DRAMA
All the teams, esp. the senior 5's looked burned out. Flyers got first at cheersport nationals in georgia and needless to say did not look like a first place team at Best of the West. Fierce's small 5 has been getting cleaner all year and looked better at USA but just lost it this weekend. I couldn't believe how unorganized the competition was. From the registration not being out until 8:15am when teams compete less than an hour later to no full size FOAM floor, much less spring floor was rediculous! My personal favorite was the fire hazard of awards. I couldn't even tell what place half the teams got or what division they were calling.

I just wanted to say one more time as one of the coaches for CV level 4 that they did not drop any stunts in that routine. They just had a couple of touch downs on their tumbling. Maybe you saw our senior level 2 team that did drop a stunt. I also just wanted to say "Congratulations" to West Coast you have a very impressive routine and deserved your win.
I don't know... It was a FREE Competition! Why would anyone expect top of the line awards or perfect organization. All 3 of the companies that put this event on are the least expensive California competition companies. Essentially, you all got 2 competitions for $50-60 dollars! That's why some gyms only attend their events.
In my opinion, if you want better awards or a more well run event, you need to talk to your gym owner and let them know you are willing to spend a little more on comp fees to go to a competition you PAY for.

Thank you, I agree with you. Fierce small 3 got 2nd, all though, I really thought they deserved 1st as well. Fierce's small 4 should have had at least 3rd. I love their stunting though, always fun to watch. Rc was the best they have been all year, but they need to step up the difficulty level, they have a lot of basics, kind if boring. West Coast 4 was unbelieveable, great routine, fun to watch, and a well deserved 1st place too. Cal Surf was messy, I had expected more from them.
