This year most of the competitions that we have attended even the bigger comps have had smaller attendance. It has been discussed at length on this message board. It has been brought up that comps are scheduled on the same day, etc. Don't the competition compainies suffer also. Less attendance, less profit. Are gyms choosing to attend fewer comps then in the past. Are there more competitions available to choose from, or does the economy play into this? Are there less cheer gyms, or gyms getting fewer new kids into thier programs? I just wonder what the long term effect this will have on cheer here in Northern California. I just remember a time when you attended a competition and the turnout was usually pretty good with plenty of competition for everyone. With the season coming to an end when do the gyms start thinking about what comps they will be attending in the coming year, and how do they pick them.
My gym will be going back to chergyms.com's Spirit Spectacular. We had so much fun and it was well run. The staff was encouraging all of the kids and made it feel like I was at my own gym!
