Why is GSSA only giving out 2 bids this year (not including international)? Since the comp is after most of the other Worlds qualif. comps, one would assume more teams would be here - trying for that last final bid. And wa la, here they are.

Didn't they give out at least 3 bids last year? I think California cheer companies should back their california teams a little more. Just my opinion: forget the prize money and offer another at large bid or two. If there are only going to be 6 teams competing, one of the best teams might not have the opportunity to even compete at super 6 because other teams with bids are going to compete for the money leaving some strong team(s) off the comp floor at the end of thd day. Again, just my opinion.
Honestly, If you are not good enough to break into the top 6, You DONT deserve to go to Worlds. I hate hearing all of the programs play the "poor me" card. If you cant be in the top 6 out of 9 teams. No wrolds for you !!! Deal with it

How many teams that might make super six already have a bid going into this? 3 or 4? How many are looking for $$$ or an upgrade? At the other comps if you have an at large bid, the next top score without a bid would get it. This comp only takes 6 so the circumstances are a little different I think that was the point in the previous point about offering more bids since more teams are coming these days.

I'm sorry, did we miss something? What program was just playing the "poor me" card?

The competition company doesn't decide how many bids to give, the attendance from the previous year determines how many (and to a certain extent what kind) bids are offered. The prize money is solely the offering of the competition company.

Last year they had 7 teams in the super six for this exact reason. Maybe they will do it again.
I am pretty sure that the teams that already have bids are going for an upgrade. However, i do agree with the other posting that stated that GSSA should forget the $$ prize and add another at large bid. That way maybe we can get another L5 team to attened and make the comp. that much more exciting.
After forking out the money for Worlds this year any kind of credit would be nice if we recieve some $$. Lets face it cheer is not cheap and my dtrs team is going for it. Good luck to all the teams.
I dont think there is anything wrong with having a grand champion of this event that recieves a cash prize. I think we all have an idea of who that will be, hopefully we will be suprised but you never know.
What other bid companies hand out bids like this (super six) My parents and kids have asked why they cant just add the score together and be done with it. I am trying to explain that the energy of super six is great and a fun time but they dont seem to get it.
Totally agree with the "if you cant break into the top 6 in the comp you shouldnt be going to Worlds". Come on now people this is the time of year where it gets a little shady with teams getting bids because most teams already have them. There should definitely be a score that you have to hit to get passed a bid regardless of who has what and where you place.
I think Super Six is one of the most excting parts of any competition around. Lets not try to "let" other teams in....if you are good enough bring it and leave it on the floor. Prove that you belong there and you will. And if you think about it if a team already has a bid that prize money can go towards costs associated with Worlds too.

I think the reasoning behind it is that there are different judges scoring different divisions so having the top from each division compete with the same set of judges is a better way of determining how they compare to one another.
As for other competitions doing this...I remember WSF did something similar 4 years ago. It wasn't for worlds but it was for the grand champs prize.
