RE: American Cheer Power in San Diego

I think two parents won t-shirts from California Spirit, or maybe I'm wrong?  The names were randomly drawn, I thought it was a really cute idea.   I can't remember which team won best choreography, I want to say their level 2.. whoever it was congratulations!   The signs were cute and I loved the black hats too.  There were some awesome signs out there, some gyms went all out!!   Congratulations to CheerXplosion for their wins and to Starstruck.  I was impressed with the teams from West Coast All Stars, entertaining routines.  All in all I enjoyed the competition, they made it fun.  Oh, and the parent team, wow!!!   Those parents were good!   And the dad's doing the wheelbarrow thing, hilarious.   My only complaint about the competition was the cost to get in, $35 x 4 in our family was a bit ridiculous.  Maybe they can work on that for next year.  wink

This was a fun competition, and nobody was snoozing as previously predicted by someone.

Starstruck, CX and CSE all had a fun time and great showings.  The Rocket Cheer parent team was hilarious (way to go dads).  And if I'm not mistaken, all the Rocket Cheer teams took 1st (mini's Level 2, Jrs Level 2 and Sr Open Level 3). West  Coast was also fun to watch, really enjoyed their level 3 team.  The high school varsity teams in Level 5 were amazing as well.

BCA - Your signs were adorable.

Congratulations to all the teams that performed - thanks for an entertaining weekend.

You're absolutely right!  Small does NOT equal "snoozer."  It was a fun event, and that parent team was SO fun and entertaining to watch!

Thank you for all the nice comments about CX. We only took one team and they had an amazing weekend.

Chris and the rest of CSE, I just want to say great job! Your routines looked great on Sunday. We loved your signs and hats.

Mike and Starstruck, What an amazing showing this past weekend. Your little flyer on Senior L3 that lost her shoe on Saturday didn't even let it phase her! She was AWESOME! Before we went out on Sunday I stopped and asked her if her shoe was tied! =)  I love your Youth dance team. I couldn't take my eyes off of them. Great job this weekend!

Good luck everybody attending GSSA this weekend! We will be cheering you all on!

Much Respect to All,
Kathy

It really was a lot of fun!!  They really make it an entertaining day, and having the signs contest is such a great idea -- you should have seen how colorful it looked when all the teams were on the stage, it was awesome.

Let's not forget about the colorful beach balls.

And every comp should have vendors coming into the stands (with cotton candy, drinks, and all kinds of junk food).  But my favorite, the carmel apples, yummy!  No wonder there was so much energy in that arena....everyone was on a suger high biggrin

sorry, not trying to be funny.  That was a sincere comment.  I haven't had a carmel apple in a long time and loved how the vendors came down the aisles, just like at a professional event.  Cut down on the people getting up from their seats.

I liked the vendors in the stands too, but my first thought was if that cotton candy blocks my view when our team comes on stage, it's going to be all over the floor.   wink     Fortunately they were good about selling in-between performances.

Nicely run competition.   I'm hoping to see some pictures posted for purchase soon, or did I miss out?   I know sometimes you have to view and purchase at the event.   I'll keep checking.

I think you have to go to universaleventphoto.com to find pictures.  They carry American Cheer Power pictures, but this event is not listed yet, to the best of my knowledge.
