Favorite Hobby During Long Competition Day

I was wondering what all the cheer parents do to keep busy on long competition days.  When I was new to the sport, I would watch all the routines.  Usually I will bring a book or knit. I have even attempted to bring a portable DVD player and watch a movie. Honestly I don't watch all the routines anymore.  I watch the teams I have liked in the past.  I will also, watch the first few moments and I see if the team has won me over to watch the whole thing.

well go exploring.  Usually you are traveling for a competition so go out and look around.  You might find a great place to eat or even a nice place to shop.  If you choose to do niether, just walk around.  Be adventurous!

and lose your seat you have to fight to keep wink J/K
I plant my hiney in my seat next to a good friend I love to chat it up with. We talk about our week, kids and anything else that has happened in between our last competition.  Watch the teams I love to watch and yell my heart out when my baby is performing.  Sit and complain how sore my butt is lol.
I come prepared with snacks (oh yes i break the rules and hide my favorite foods in my bag) and sometimes I have my bag packed with all the latest gossip magazines like US. Catch up on all the hollyweird(wood) gossip.  And wait for those awards so we can head home and do it all over again in just a few weeks.
I love being at competitions. I love everything about it. Just dont play the cha cha slide or any song that requires full participation to kill time and Im good. I can sit all day and watch cheer.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Lol!!! The seat thing has been out of control lately! We do exactly the same things, eat, talk, eat some more, read People and wait for those precious 2:30 when we get to see our babies shine biggrin I could sit there all day, my co-workers and other "non-cheer" people just don't get it!

After six years of my daughter cheering my favorite thing to do was always watch all the routines...never got boring for me. The last year that my daughter cheered was especially great because I found someone else who loved it just as much as I did and she would hang out with me allllll day and we'd go horse cheering on all the teams.
