As for Cali getting a bid at NCA, it is definitely a possibility. Shoot! It's gunna happen!!! It's going to come down to silly, small, personal mistakes in Dallas like it always does for the top five. As for Top Gun, Cheer Athletics Wildcats, and CA... think it going to be like this: (this opinion comes from you tube viewing)

1. Top Gun (has a bid)
2. Cheer Athletics (has a bid)
3. California

In my opinion Stingrays routine doesn't match up with TG, CA, or Cali. But that's just my opinion from the most recent you tube. Unless they have changed their routine from the last you tube, which I'm sure they have, everyone does, then right now. California will take them.

California will definitely receive a bid at NCA, no doubt.

As for the small senior division, overall, it's going to be very hard for anyone in this division to get a bid. You pretty much have to be difficulty-jam-packed, and hitting to perfection to get a bid in this division.

Good luck California at NCA!!! Also Cheerforce Diamondz too!!! And POWER, kill it!!!

Reppin' Cali in styyyyllleee!

I am not sure I agree with the senior level 3 division either?? What do you think the results should have been?

The California Open Team was so great. Talked to a couple of the kids and they said they had gotten their music 2 thursday's before the competition! i was so surpirsed they had the whole place standing up on their feet when they were done. I was even more surprised when they said they only starting having two practices a week three weeks before the compeition and it was a saturday practice from 6pm to 9pm and then a sunday 6 in the morning to 8!!!!!!!!!! I asked "why so early?!" and they said because they are all coaches for their personal teams they had their compeitions so they had to do early morning practices..! I was just in awe that they could do that and make it work, and come out 1st at the competition with a bid to worlds! They said they didnt even know the words so their coach and teammates said since they had to "sing the music" they were were just to say "watermelon, watermelon, watermelon" over and over! Ha Ha Ha! As a cheer mother to a daughter on a level 5 team, that was just amazing to me. That cheerforce team was great also! Lots of great tumbling skills, but heard that wasn't their team for worlds they added people I guess just for the competition?? So who knows with less people at worlds if they will beat CA, because CA beat them with their team they are going to with for worlds? I think they will both do great at worlds reguardless!!! Good luck to everyone at NCA also!!

Cali dropped a stunt. SS doesn't post scores, just placements, so we'll probably never know how close the scores were, but I'm assuming Desert Storm outscored Cali.

the way that comp works..even if cali did drop a astunt and still outscore desert storm..they would never give a full paid bid to a team with a dropped stunt.

Yes, how did CA large coed NOT get the paid bid??? Are they only going to USA nationals and NCA to get their bid now? Wow it is really crunch time for those team who want bids, there isn't many left.

They're not on the schedule for USA. Is it too late to add to that competition?

As far as NCA goes, NCA is awarding 1 paid bid in each of the 4 divisions (SmSr, LgSr, SmCoed, LgCoed) Top Gun and Cheer Athletics already have bids in LgCoed, so realistically, if CA can beat Stingrays, they should come home with a bid. If they don't beat Stingrays, then they have a shot at the 5th paid bid which will be awarded to the next highest score, regardless of division.

Based on this, I think there's still time for Cali Coed to get a paid bid at NCA, depending on how well they do against Stingray purple. Small senior, to me its doubtful. They might be able to pull off an at large bid at NCA, their awarding 10, but I wouldn't be surprised if they can't. I think what's gonna make or break Cali's small senior is how many teams ahead of them already have bids from somewhere else. Either way, I'm sure they'll be able to talk USA into allowing them to do a last minute registration, if they can do that, I think coed can get a paid there and small senior can get their at large.

i hope they do..to me rays purple doesn't even compare to cali coed..i think theyre right up there with ca and tg..ca bullets have come a looong way.

What I
have heard was that the 3rd place team had done something that MAY have been illegal but thats not for sure so
dont quote me on it. Also I
was also told that the first place team had dropped a stunt.& the fourth place team had a bobble & got low score on their dance. Which I heard was very energetic &
had the crowd going. But thats all iveheard

I totally agreed with the small senior three and small senior 4 placements, those  were great divisions to watch.

I agree, level three division was unfair at spirit sports. When watching the whole division I thought Fierce was going to be in first even with their bobble, because like someone said above their dance was great with so much energy! Tumbling was great, and just that little bobble set them back that much?! I was very confused for this division.

Fourth Place I believe was Fierce.

Is that written somewhere in Spirit Sport policy, or is that based on an assumption of yours that even with a dropped stunt, there is no way that Desert Storm could have outscored California?

I was at the competition and saw both performances.  At the coaches meeting a scoring system was discussed and you could achieve higher scores if certain items were within the routine.  Maybe Desert Storm had more of those elements.  Also,  did Cali have full team jumps to tucks.  I also believe that Desert Storm had ALOT of doubles, 4 or 5 guys doing combos into doubles wont out score 20 doubles from another team.  Just a thought.

There really is no way that you could outscore with deductions. Without a doubt, Cali Coed and Power large all girl were better, but they had deductions. Cali on day two and Power pretty much killed their chances when they had the collision on day one. They were way more talented, but they had deductions. In my opinion, cali should of got the bid. They were much better and the one stunt should not have cost them

The only replacments on the team were due to injuries and 2 of those replacments were non tumbling but the third one was an awesome tumbler but the person he replaced has equal tumbling.

I think people like Fierce's energy but sometimes they are a little messy in the transition department.  Not sure if that made a difference or not.  They seemed to have a rough weekend.  But I sure do like their lady bugs.

Yes... this is right. At the coaches meeting they said if you were a level 5 team for each section of your routine you could score between a 9.0 to 10.0...

so for instance if you had a toe back or a pike jump not connected through to toe tuck your jumps section score would have automatically been a 9.0, the lowest you could score. If the judges thought, "Well, even though the difficulty isn't there, the jumps and tucks they threw were beautiful"... then they might score them a 9.1 or 9.2 or 9.3. If you had a toe toe toe back as your jump section but only had fifteen thrown out of a team with 35 participants then you were going to score in between a 9.3-9.5. If they were beautiful then you might score a 9.6.

To get high scores in all sections you had to be doing the highest maximum difficulty. (and sticking!!!) This is exactly what was told to us at the coaches meeting.

Why did you feel that it was scored incorrectly the first day.  Our coach found an adding error on ours the first day and our score went from a 6.97 to a 7.00 but it helped.  Did you guys talk to the company about it?
