So everyone knows...for one comp we had to use a girl from our college team (due to injury) so actually it's the Pyramids 4/5/6 team.

We are going to Athletic Championship, but I sure would love to see all the teams from Power.  Motions Coed has always been one of my favorite teams to watch.  You guys are awesome. Good luck to all the teams this weekend.  My biggest regret this year is not getting to see the All American Team.  I've seen the 'Say Cheese' video and loved it.  When/where is AA's next competition?

You will be able to see both the Jr AA and Sr Coed AA teams at the Cheergyms.com Spirit Spec Comeptition on Feb 2, 2008 at the Samramento Memorial Auditorium. :)

lmao it never stops huh? Danny you are funnywink
good luck cheergym teams we wont be there to watch you all this time but im sure your teams will do well. This comp seems like it should be full of competitive talent.  Cant wait to hear the results.

although as soon as the comp is over no matter who wins... im sure it will be back to someone defending their first place.  Lets all make a bet lol

good luck to all the teams and may the team who brings their A game that day be on top.

hey danny don't forget you could always add someone form your senior 3 squad and then have  a 3456 team (smile) now that would be something to talk about

It is quite old to hear that Power's Senior 4 has some unfair advantage ove the "just 4" teams. NONE of these girls are on their Large 5 or Small 5. They are only on that team and work hard. They are a Level 4 team that has no other advantage than any other "just L4". Sorry had to get it off my chest.

LOLOLOL...that is funny! Thank you for the heads up....I'm sure we all will be able to spot her!  As for the "just L4"  .... if you think about it..you have a team that has 4/5/6(LOLOL) that is a spolished team I'm sure,  and you have Powers Large Senior L4 team that I am sure is also very good, but they have more than 20..not sure of the count, and then the rest is L4  under 20.  Looks like a division that was Small Level 4 now has one large team in it so they could compete...that is all.   Who knows about the other teams and if they have cross overs too!  This will be a good comp...Good luck to all and stay safe !!!smilesmile

Is it just me or is this format hard to read??   It's hard to tell how many and who are in each division.  Seems like they could divide it better and make it more obvious.

Umm, I don't think you can say any competition is the  "best of Nor Cal". Just because Power and Cheergyms.com attend an event, why is it deemed the best. Yes those gyms are established and very strong, but if you know cheerleading, then you wouldn't make that statement. I wouldn't say the comment is rude, but just VERY uneducated.

I know sometimes the truth does hurt a bit, but in all actuality the best programs on Norcal are Cheergyms and Power. Both have bids to Worlds super early and Power had the first large  all girl bid in all of the US. It does not mean that other teams are not good, but they are the best. Deal with it and move on.

Speaking of Power. I spoke to a mom at the GSSA competition and she said the numbers are down and the staff is stretched to thin. She said next year they are losing most of their staff are closing the Modesto gym and moving to Tracy. Is that true?

Howdy Everyone

First of all let me start by saying that this is incorrect.  This rumor was started by a former POWER parent that was not allowed to come back to POWER this season for various reasons.  I could have had this post deleted, but thought it best to address the situation head on to avoid being questioned about it further.

  • POWER closing Modesto and moving to TRACY ...FALSE
  • POWER staff not coming back next year ... FALSE
  • POWER numbers are down this year ...FALSE (we are one of the few major programs in California that have seen an overall increase in our numbers this past year)
  • Staff stretched to thin...FALSE. I actually have several staff members that want more hours than what I can give them, and I have had numerous coaches from across the country looking to make a move possibly to Northern California.

I will honestly say it amazes me that some cheerleaders and parents have nothing better to do than to rip various programs on these boards, question every move that program directors, coaches, and owners do, and negatively speak of cheerleaders and their team's performances.

My advice...Tend to your own, help them improve and do what you can for them.  Let everyone else do what ever it is they do, and stay out of the drama that is not your own.

Cheers

JOHN

PS Tryouts are April 11, 2008 in Modesto and April 12, 2008 in Sacramento.  Visit our website for more details next week.
