No it doesn't, it looks like there have been a few changes.   Still no Nor Cal Elite on the schedule, can someone from NCE verify if they are going?  I hope so...

There are not that many organizations with much competition at this event.  Some programs have no competition at all in most their divisions.  That can be a long weekend for no competition and expensive one too.  If I was paying to spend the weekend, at a National event, I would not be happy.  Parents we must stick together talk to your gyms about their competitions to ensure your child gets the full benefit of their expenses.  Remember cheerleading is not cheap..  I read someone say earlier in a post that some teams only go to competitions they will win so their gym looks good.  I dont think that is true for all gyms because NorCal, Roseville etc are really good and they can dominate wherever they go.  I also can understand those teams going to the competition if it is in their local area.  For those traveling and having no competition hopefuly you have others to make up for this one.  Have fun and keep smiling.
remember you can still rock it. For you and for your parents who are watching so remember to do your best.
For those teams with competition GOOD luck.   Are they having high point awards because this is where they can make up.

Harsh but so true.  We probably should not post this here because the cheerleaders come to this site and they see they arent competing against anyone. If we just kept the schedule confidential to coaches only.  When the kids win they really think they won and beat out other teams they dont even know they did not compete with anyone.  As far as the grand champion.  There is not much competition for the entire national event.  Are they giving away jackets even if a team did not have competition?

If your going to make comments about how sad that there is so little competition for the teams attending this event please at least refer to the correct schedule using the link below.   I'll make it nice and big so you can't miss it.

http://www.athleticchampionships.com/files/city/_tmp_pdfnpickl.pdf

Every year the Athletic Championship competition is usually one of the most well attended events.  Unfortunately the attendance is down this year because Cheersport is being held on the same weekend. The attendance at Cheersport is also lower than it usually is. As a parent I'm happy thatwe will be attending. This has always been one of my favorite comps to attend.  It is well run, I like the venue, and I'm happy.  Since I forked out the money that paid for my daughter to attend and I'm happy, thats all that matters.  If your not attending this weekend why on earth would it matter to you anyway, so get over it, and move on.

                              Everyone!

I fully agree with you.  You know if you count up teams and look at both schedules you will see that the bigger comp this weekend is Athletic not cheersport.  We are going to cheersport but we love athletic and hope to go back next season.

Your right I think it's 19 gyms attending Cheersport and 21 gyms will be attending Athletic Championship.  Good luck everyone.

For your further postings on this board, please remember the comment courtesy when you are GUESSING what team might win.  That courtesy is to only select the team that you think will win.  Not to rank every team in the category.  This was a general discussion a while back and something that the board posters agreed to, please respect that and keep your selections to just that and nothing more.  THANK YOU

We parents that are TRAVELING to this competition can't wait for this competition to happen!!!!  This competition is a blast!!!!  Perhaps, your gym hasn't attended this competition before???  TOO BAD!!!  You have been missing out on a great thing.

This competition is no expensive at all.  It's two competition days for $80.00.  That's $40.00 a day for the cheerleaders.  Yes, we have to pay an admission fee of $25.00 for a two day pass.  What's that break down to $12.50 a day.  So, if I am adding that up, it's $52.50 per day to watch my child enjoy her passion.  I don't know what CHEERSPORT is charging for it's one day regional, for each performer, but come on it's gotta be close.

As far as travel goes, there are some teams that are traveling over a hundred miles to Stockton, CA this weekend.  I would bet that some of the cheer teams may be even spending the night in Stockton so they don't travel in the early morning hours.  Believe it or not many clubs do this for many REGIONAL competitions.

So, for you to keep putting this effort down in hopes to play up the competition you will be attending come up with another excuse.  Many of us parents have been educated on the cost of cheerleading and we have selected our gyms because of our personal reasons.

If your club has vowed to keep your competition costs down this season and are seeking out competitions that don't require you to travel, then they need to hold true to that and make it happen.  I guess that would mean that you will not be challenging your teams with Southern California/out of state teams this season?

There is no need to rally the troops because this troop isn't following.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THAT IS ATTENDING THE ATHLETIC COMPETITION!  WEAR THOSE NATIONAL SWEATSHIRTS PROUDLY!

Your statement is correct.  There is no admission for this competition.  They just charged each competitor $60.00 to compete.  In addition, if you are a crossover you are paying $120.00 for the day.

There is no offensive taken here.  The facts need to be posted so that all can form their own opinion.  Sometimes people jump on this board and read comments and turn them into a reality.  It's time to just give the facts, and you draw your own conclusion.  Great debate, huh?
