That's bummer that cheer xplosion is going down a level at this point in the season and not comepting agains anyone.
Way to go California spirit for moving up! Your gym just keeps getting stronger and better!
I think level 4 has been a tough category this season and some gyms have already moved their level 4's down to 3 knowing they are not true level 4's (the only true level 4's I have seen so far are Power and Pyramids). Just my opinion. Maybe they are moving to level 3 to get ready for Nationals, since it means changing their routine. I don't think they moved down because of competition as they have held their own against other level 4 teams so far, but once you get to Nationals from what I've seen in the past you'll get a lot of level 5 teams going to 4, so I can understand the move. I don't know if they lost any girls as well but that could be too.
I agree. This is the perfect time for teams to move into thier strongest level in preparation for Nationals. Smart gym owners and coaches do what is best for their teams to be successful and not necessarily to have that higher level in their gym. As far as true level 4 teams I haven't seen many competitions with them but agree that pyramids and power have true strong level 4 teams. I nelieve airborne has a level 4 team too and they are super strong as well(i could be wormg on the level they are though Cheer explosion the last time i saw them did good as level 4 but im certain they will do great as a level 3 team and will be strong, giving them the motivation to get their nationals game ready. good luck to them and cse who is moving up can;t wait to see if ucf has improved some. theyve been struggling all season im sure they are working hard and will be strong at this comp. havent heard of helmet allstars cant wait to see what they are about havent seen hulmbodt in quite some time cant wait t see what they bring to the table turning out to be a nice size comp

Just want to add that the winner in most National competitions for the level 4 division were teams that were level 5 sometime in the season who dropped. I can understand making a move now if you don't feel you can go against level 4's who have level 5's on their team. Good luck to cx and to all the other teams at this competition. Good luck to california spirit elite in this new category-- I think this is a good time to try something new too, right before Nationals, because you can always go back if it is not a good fit. I see some gyms on the schedule I have not seen mentioned before, should be a fun competition.
Hi Everyone , I am one of the coaches for CV All Stars. We are from Southern California just outside of Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley. If anyone knows of Raging Waters, that is where we are located. We have three teams, Junior level 3, Senior level 2, and Senior Level 4. We went to the Athletic Championships in San Mateo two years ago, and absolutely loved it, so we decided to go back with just our level 4 team. We figure it is a nice chance for the team to see a different part of the state and enjoy a good competition. We look forward to next weekend and wish everyone lots of luck.
Cheerfully yours, Candace Miller CV All Stars Coach

______________________________________________ their Jr. team should be doing better... rumor has it for the last comp and for the rest of the year that they have some of their Sr. team double teaming on the Jrs and a bunch of their Jrs. double teaming on their youth.. I guess that explains why the Youth team is large now.

that's n0t entirely true because the gym increased in numbers over the holidays they do have double teamers but not like its being stated they have a lot of new families esp on youth but good luck to all the teams

I beg everyone to please ignore this post. Please do not respond. It only feeds into someone starting unwanted drama on this board. Thanks.
it is an interesting point in general though.. the whold double teaming... do a ton of teams do it? I know I have seen a lot of talk about level 4 and 5 double teaming but guess I didn't realize it went on at the lower levels as well.
As we approach Nationals you'll see a lot of gyms doing it, I think. Sometimes you have no choice because of injuries and other issues that might come up.
I am very surprised there is only one team in the Senior Level 3 division, and I have noticed that at some of the other competitions there has been very little competition in this division. I wonder why, it used to be popular?? I know the Senior Level 3 Open division takes some away, but still..seems like there should be more.
Every competition we have attended so far this year has had competition in the Senior Open 3 division. The least being 2 and the most being 4 teams. So much for competing with no competition in the open division.
im on a small senior level 3 team and we have competed against 4 teams at every competition so far this season. While the number of competitiors in the division are consistent, from what i remember about last season was that sm sr 3 was one of the largest, if not the largest division. Senior open definitely takes away but it has also taken away from all the large divisions as well. i still think sm sr 5 sm sr3 sm junior 2 and sm youth 2 are by far the most popular divisins this season out of every division there is.
Quick correction: The Premier gym listed for this competition is currently listed incorrectly. They are not affiliated with the Varsity Brands "Premier Athletics" Gym Program, they are an independantly-owned gym called "PREMIER". Just wanted to clarify this error.
The team listed against Premier in the Large Senior L2 division is called "Hornet All Stars" and they are a Boys and Girls club located in South San Francisco I believe. Their Director probably lives in San Mateo which is why the schedule says San Mateo as their location.

I think it's just the ones I happened to look at that didn't have very many at all. I do remember that last year it was most definitely one of the most popular divisions.
