There, now both tri-valley gyms are represented! I have to say I am a fan of both gyms, I see different styles and talent associated with each. What I find most impressive is the talent that is in our area, it's awesome.
I grew up in the tri-valley area and it is just amazing to me to see how it has expanded. Between these two all-star gyms there are 9 teams (I think)? I love how the interest in all star cheerleading here continues to grow.
Well said & so true. The downside of our area expanding is the 580 freeway, it can be a nightmare and it seems to keep getting worse as businesses and condos continue to pop up in the hills. I guess that's true everywhere but sometimes I miss the old days, lol.
Honestly CA Spirit did a great job at their first stab at level 4. Kudos to the coach and to the girls to working together as team!
CV did well also. If you really look at the whole package...tumbling, stunts, etc....CWT should have not been competing at level 4. Work up the scalibility of the stunts and get a lil bit more creative with your transitions.
Our senior team at CWT was never intended to be a level 4 team. The majority of our tumbling and stunt skills are at level 3 , but the team as a whole wanted to put themselves into a level where they could really try to challenge themselves for one competititon. The girls asked their coaches if they could try it, and we decided to go for it. Going into the competititon the girls, and coaches knew that this would just be a learning experience for them and had no expectations to win in this category.
Of course going into the competition we had many nerves, which got the best of us as well as at least half of the team was ill so we had to make changes which brought our skill level back down, but by then was too late to change divisions. The girls decided to make the most of the competition no matter what happened as they just wanted to experience the level four division once. They had fun, and felt good that they made Sundays performance much better than Saturday. As a coach I was proud of their efforts, and their desire to try something new knowing that they were most likely doing it for the experience only. As a team we had set the goal to go for it even though it wasn't the right fit, and it really gave them good insight as to where they would like to go in the future. I am proud that they were more interested in the learning rather than the winning!
Good for you! The only thing I would question is why try it at a Nationals competition, why not at your last regional? But at least they tried and now they know what to shoot for.

Most of the competitions that come to Nor Cal are called Nationals, so it would have been pretty much the same no matter when we did it. Also it was going to be a smaller competition anyway due to Cheer Sport being the same weekend. This way it still gave us plenty of other competitions to be at our true level before as we head into the end of the competition season.

My guess would be that's when the girls asked.
I have only been to this comp once, but it was a great experience...probably the closest to the perfect comp...a few others should take note.

I am not being negative but I don't understand this at all. Who goes into a competition with no expectations to win? I could see if you have outgrown your level and dominated at every competition and want to try something new because you think you have a chance at moving up, but I do not think that was the case here. If you're not doing well at one level, why try to move on to the next? Sorry, I must be missing something.

What I don't understand is why does it matter. It's was thier decision. I enjoy watching CWT. You have a great group of girls. Like the above poster said you girls ROCKED!. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Maybe it matters to members of the gym. I don't think it matters to anyone outside the gym. As a fan of CWAT I want to see them succeed and do well, they deserve it. I want to wish everyone luck at their next competition, we're getting close to the end here, hard to believe.
Hey cwt..... uh oh it's your turn dont let it get to you great job to your teams and good luck this season
Yep first it was CSE now CWAT. Come on people it's time to move on. Good Luck with the rest of the season. Know you will do great!
why do people assume the comments are from other gyms? don't see anything negative about them, more of a reality check; if you don't expect to win it must mean you expect to lose, not a good mindset. we will move on

no one assumed it was from other gyms. we simply stated it was their turn. calm down and please move on! it is all ok.
good point, I did make an assumption. agree, it's all good and time to move on. want to add that I really enjoy CWAT's routines, they are creative and fun to watch, I wish the girls the best.
