RE: Athletic Championships January 26-27

You know what's fun to do?   Since AthleticChampionships.com posts all the results from prior competitions all over the country, with the scores, it's fun to compare our scores here in Northern California with others.  Kind of see where we stand.  Okay, maybe it's just me and I'm bored right now, but I think it's fun.  smile.gif    At the end of the season they should have a grand grand champion for each division based on who had the highest score in the country!

Honestly CA Spirit did a great job at their first stab at level 4. Kudos to the coach and to the girls to working together as team!

CV did well also. If you really look at the whole package...tumbling, stunts, etc....CWT should have not been competing at level 4. Work up the scalibility of the stunts and get a lil bit more creative with your transitions.

CV did more than well, and CA Spirit gave it a shot but I honestly don't think they are there, especially not right before Nationals.  It looks like CWT went back to level 3 which is a better fit for them.  Now is the time for gyms to make smart decisions and do justice to the talent they have.  JMO

Cal Spirit had a rough first day, and on Sunday they did much better. I give them credit for trying.  I heard they are going back to level 3. Thier senior level 2 dropped a couple of stunts on Saturday, but on Sunday they looked great.  Very entertaining and lots of energy and they looked like they were having fun performing that routine.  I think thier gym as a whole did a good job this weekend.   I love CV's tumbling.  Roseville was awesome, and I really enjoyed all the teams from Riptide.  This gym keeps getting better.  Very enjoyable day.

No need to continue to make excuses.   I keep reading the same post with slightly different wording.  They lost to teams that had stronger performances, it's just that simple.

Hope they finish the season strong, and more importantly, hope they have fun.

Level 3 - Small Senior Cheer Xplosion - Looked GREAT! 1st performance at level 3

For a team than had been level 4 and according to their message board many girls have standing tucks, layout and fulls they "owned it this weekend"

Wow, that was a bit rude.   I've seen Cheer Xplosion's Level 4 a couple times and they did not have enough standing tucks or layouts to win at level 4 at those competitions.   I thought they did okay at level 4 but they most definitely were  not strong.  They did an excellent job this past weekend, it was the cleanest I've seen them look.  It is a good fit and I hope they stick with it.    I enjoyed all of their teams this weekend.   Congratulations to Gold Star for winning youth level 2 and for Grand Champs, you guys looked awesome, it was well deserved!

Who are you talking about because this post is out of line. I guess thats the direction of this message board though.

This seems to be hitting home....  Are you just upset that the stronger (better) team isn't getting praises?

Posts that come on here and keep explaining why their teams did not win need to move on. I think that is the point and I agree with the poster. We weren't there and we're not part of any gym that was, so please don't make assumptions and take this out on some other gym. I've been reading praisings about all the winners, and about those who had strong performances so I think all bases have been covered.

I think the thing about cheerleading is sometimes the team you really like watching and enjoy don't always win. I go to many cheer compettions, but the first place team isn't my favorite or a team I enjoy. Yes they hit the scoresheet, but its not a team I remember. That is why people keep posting about teams they actually liked.

I know what you mean.  The opposite is true too, I have my favorite gyms and they always seem to get slammed on this board which is unfortunate because they all work just as hard.

I think this is a fun idea!   We don't get to compete with gyms all over the country, so comparing scores might be the next best thing.

Well I've read thru this message and I don't see any post were anyone is making excuses, or explaining why they didn't win.  No where did I read that the scores where unfair, or wow you should have won.  I agree sometimes you may like a teams that didn't come in first.  Whats wrong with posting a message that says so.   No one is taking anything away from the teams that won.  You can still do good even if you didn't come in 1st.  Why would someone saying they thought another team did good bother you?  Is it the team they are talking, or that it's not your team that they complimented?  I really enjoyed this competition and so congrats to everyone you all did a good job.

I agree.  I don't know what is worse seeing your team mentioned and getting slammed, or not seeing you team mentioned at all.  I think I prefer the second.  All these kids work so hard I don't understand the negativity.

We were at a gym last year that people would praise constantly on this board.  For various reasons we moved to a gym that is one of the ones that seems to get bashed a lot.  We are much happier where we are now, so I don't think what people post or don't post on this board makes any difference at all.  I have to agree reading through all the posts you usually don't see so many about what happened on day 1 from a particular gym.  I'm sure they will come back strong at their next competition as will all the others that aren't mentioned that also had a rough day 1.

I really dislike two day competitions.  We had a rough day 2, which is worse.  I wish you could take the best of both days??

I agree, sometimes it's better not to see your name at all, apparently.

I agree with you I don't think it makes a difference, but it is still hurtful.
