yeah how come there are absolutely no videos of nor cal elite from this year.

how weird.

why is taht weird? I know that our gym ask us to not post until the end of the season. I am not from norcal........... our gym doesnt have videos either.  I also know that we have attended comps where no video taping is allowed for the most part and even if there is video taping allowed we do not post our teams online because our gym requested us not too.

i dont think it is weird at all. some gyms just dont want to have their routines posted for what ever reasons.

Oh i wasnt saying it was weird like...suspicious weird or that anyone was doing anything wrong...i would have just figured someone would have taken a video and posted. nothing personal!
sorry if i hit a soft spot with anyone! and i'm glad that people respected the request of the gym to not post if that was the case...i just didnt figure it was cuz i think i saw a video of their college team earlier, and there are all sorts of videos from last year.

but sorry again!

They are adorable. I also just love watching the Youth Teams perform. Mini and Youth did a good job of stealing the show this weekend. Enjoyed watching Extreme, Gold Star, California Spirit, Rebels, too many to remember. I also enjoyed all the teams from NCE this weekend. What a talented group of kids. Your routines where some of the most entertaining this weekend. I also enjoyed the CV All Stars. I think they were one of the biggest standouts of the day. Loved thier tumbling. I was also really impressed with Riptide. Level 4 had some great teams competing I was really impressed. I agree ya gotta love the guy with the big hair! Overall I think everyone performed much better on the 2nd day. Had a enjoyable weekend, now on to the next competition.

Congrats NCE for the highest score of the day 8.85 :) A lot of the scores are only 1 or 2 points difference between 1st and 2nd. So it was a pretty good match up

Very cute, and talented!   Can you do layouts in level 3?   Maybe I missed something..

no u cant have layouts in 3.  They should of gotten a deduction for that.  It was not just one occurance.  I saw it from the same kids multiple times.

I'm sure the judges are aware of that.  Maybe they threw in layouts because they had no competition?   I don't know how it would affect their score (how much of a deduction each one would be).   Pretty impressive to have that kind of talent so young.

I would like to say thank you for all the compliments regarding California Spirit Elite this past weekend. We had some of the best performances this past weekend and was so proud of our kids at so many times I could barely contain myself. It is true our Senior Teal team did have a REALLY rough prelims performance but performed so much better on Sunday. We wanted to see how the kids would perform/react to competing at a higher level and overall it was a GREAT experience. We were plagued with injuries, but I think overall our girls did wonderful. Our other 3 teams, senior black  (senior 2), youth and minis were FANTASTIC really shined this weekend on both days. Although I feel as a coach some of the scores, judges comments were VERY frustrating, I think it will help our program for nationals in the upcoming months. Bottom line is our girls just love to perform and thats why I coach cheerleading.

On a second note, it would be great if people on this board weren't degrading ANY program. I am scrolling down the messages and can't believe parents or athletes bad mouth other programs to this degree. We all have bad days, so cut the teams some slack. Again I would like to congratulate all the teams this weekend. Lots of good routines out there.

Other than our teams (of course) who  I thought did amazing, here are a few teams I thought were great.

Nor Cal Open/coed/ all girl 5- their dances all make up me wanna get up and move! biggrin

CV Vipers-Saw them in warm ups and thought their kick fulls and double downs were gorgeous. Haven't heard of this program but thought they were great.

Riptide coed- Dance energy was GREAT.

Good job and congrats again.

Coach Chris ;)

I have not had time to read through all these posts until this morning.  I have to say I think your teams did great this weekend.  I loved watching your youth team.  Those girls really worked that routine with two clean performances both days.  Such a cute routine.  I was very impresed by your senior level 2 team. They had a rough start on Saturday, but on Sunday they did great.  They came out with such high energy and really shined.  You and your girls should be really proud. As for you senior 4 team, you could tell they put thier hearts into that second performance.  Big improvement on Sunday.  Your program has really grown this year and I look forward to seeing you perform again.  Good luck.

I thought there was great energy from most gyms that weekend, it was nice to see.   Saw some gyms I hadn't seen yet this season (Riptide and Supreme to name a couple), I thought they looked great.  Congratulations to the five all-star Grand Champion winners, those trophies were huge!  I think all competitions should have something like that, it's nice for those who don't have any competition in their division.

oh, I agree, it's so frustrating when you don't have anyone else in your division.  If all competitions (not just nationals) gave something to the team with the highest score in each level it would give them something to shoot for.  I think a few regionals do something similar, but I don't think they reward each level, from 1 to 5.

I really liked attending this competition this past weekend. I thought it was extremely well run and for some reason it's just a comfortable venue. The whole weekend went pretty smoothly. We will be attending again next year.

Honestly CA Spirit did a great job at their first stab at level 4.  Kudos to the coach and to the girls to working together as team!

CV did well also.  If you really look at the whole package...tumbling, stunts, etc....CWT should have not been competing at level 4.  Work up the scalibility of the stunts and get a lil bit more creative with your transitions.
