I would like to thank the cheergym coaches for posting positive comments on the board. I used to think that cheergyms was an overall classy organization with parents who were good sports and I see that is not the truth. I feel that the judging was fair. There are always things that judges miss, I believe the judge failed to penalize motions for touch downs or bobbles at certain competitions. If the roles were reversed we would not hear these complaints. Dont bash the company or the judges but encourage your children to become better athletes. This board has severly changes my opinion about the parents of this organization
You have a right to your own opinion, but remember this is an anonymous message board. With that being said I think some people are a little more apt to say things they wouldn't if they had to sign thier name. I use to be part of Cheergyms and it is a wonderful program, with some wonderful coaches, parents and kids. I also can't say enough about Danny and Morton. They are a class act. Don't judge the whole program by a few posters. Also remember not everyone who posts on this board is from Cheergyms. I think some people just really enjoy creating drama.
I agree that jamz messes up, there were a lot of 10 point deductions i saw that were not caught.. motions level 2...cheer odyssey minis did a stunt that another gym did before and got a 10 POINT deduction for...which put them in last place...
I'm curious as to what you think the minis did that was not legal for their level?
I am not the original poster but I guess I can speak to this. The Royal Mini team at the first Jamz competition did the same hitch stunt that Cheer Odyssey Mini team did at this last comp (hitch stunt). We received a 10 point deduction which took us from 1st to last. So obviously we didn't do it again but CO did it and didn't get a deduction. I don't typically come on here and post. Just changed the routine, told my girls they did an awesome job and moved on. So yes their are flaws in the system but what judging system doesn't have flaws. After being a competitive gymnast for 10 years, you win some and lose some. We're only human. Love Ya Royal Minis!!!
I am thinking about cheering at "cheer xperience" next year how did the teams do at this compatition? I see they go to alot of Jamz comps. i could not find them on youtube do they have any routines on youtube. so i could see for myself?

If you are interested in that particular gym your best bet would be to visit the gym and see for yourself, or contact the director.
I really wish jamz would post scores like everyone else. It would be nice to see what the differences were each team as well as it holds them accountable to scoring to everyone.
Did they only name the top 4 in the senior 3 division or did some teams drop out?

why would they need to make themselves accountable to us? we have no input into the choreographing of our kids routine so why should it matter to us? i feel as long as the coaches receive the breakdown of scores that is fair enough to me. You people are just trying to get in someones business, exactly where you do NOT belong...
Why would you say something so mean to me? I wasnt saying it in the since of accountability in answering to us. Most orginizations announct the scores or post the scores. I do know that one time we received a place higher than we should have and when we saw the posted scores to where we were placed we notified the company and they gave the correct gym their place...
what you said was very rude and uncalled for. I was simply stating it would be nice if thery did post the scores... not deductions, choreography or anything like that.
you need to chill out and stop starting trouble. everyone on here is not out to get drama started and honestly me posting i think they should pos scores is a minor issue compared to what has been said about jamz on this thread try to have a better day

they have no info on there website, that is why i was wondering how they did

I COMPLETELY agree with you on this, and I agree the post after yours was rude. As parents we would love to see how our teams scored, how close it was, what the points were in specific categories if possible. Coaches typically do not share this with us parents, leaving us in the dark, which is why I really appreciate seeing scores and I love competitions that post them (Jamfest, GSSA, etc...). Jamz does their simple ranking (1, 2, 3, etc...) which tells you nothing and leaves you wondering how close it really was. If my daughter is on a team that score-wise is nowhere near the others in her category, I would like to know. Likewise if their scores were very close to the top it would give us a warm fuzzy feeling knowing they are on the right track.

I so agree about posting the scores for the simple reason that it can make you feel better if you see that you were close, or know that you need to work harder.

The gym owners and coaches have the scores. They send them to the gym owners and coaches ONLY for those who attended. So since you did not attend as a coach or gym you do not need them.

We coaches do get a break down of where each team placed and why as far as Im conserned the only people who see that sheet is me & my staff! We are the ones who have to make the routine adjustments!

Thank you very much for explaining in a nice way. I think that it was stated just why don't they announce the scores or post them like other companies. We all know that parents and cheerleaders f dont need the breakdown etc. Most other orginizations announce the score as they are calling out places. It is def. not our place as parents orcheerlders to see the score sheet. Its just fun to know where we place score wise. Kind of like what jamfest gssa nce etc... they always say and with a score of ..... in second place. That is what was meant by announce or post the scores. It wasn't meant to say we wnat to get all up in the coaches business where we don't belong and it wasn't meant to over step or anything like that. it was just a simple wish they would announce or post scores not the entire score sheet or anything like that.I hope you all forg please forgive me for rubbing you gym owners and coaches the wrong way. I am sure that you understand where i'm coming from and its not as bad as some of you are making t seem to suggest announcing or posting scores with the results. again just the scores with the places not the details of score sheets. Jeez its not anything unsual, just most orginizations do it. but the above poster/coach thank you for stating what you felt in a nicer way
In my opinion this is yet another difference between Jamz and most other competitions that either post the scores or announce them... Jamz needs to make some changes if they want people to continue to attend. This issue and high admission prices for spectators at regionals and nationals are my two biggest pet peeves with Jamz.

you also have to think that they give away all the cash prizes too as well as the raffel prize that my lil neice won. We went to a usa comp last week and all the team got was a cheap little plaque and at jamz we got a nice big trophy. it seems to me that the money is going to the right things...
as parents i dont think it is your responsibility to know the scores at a competitiong. Parents don't understand scoring, let alone the majority don't understand how to use it as positive criticism to improve for the next competition. it is just easier to to leave it to the coaches who actually can use it towards the betterment of the team.
for the parent who said they would like scores to know if their team was close or far from other teams in their division. if you can't tell whether or not your team was close or not from other competition than you might not know cheerleading lol. alot of people who truly understand cheerleading (coaches, judges, and cheersmart athletes) can tell after watching the routine how well they should place or relatively.
and as for the parents who said not posting scores would stop teams from going? what about the fact that jamz has some of the most exciting staff around. i mean how entertaining is the staff during awards and in between routines? i think little things like that are more important than announcing scores.
I occasionally like to watch figure skating. I can't tell the difference between a triple flip and a triple toe loop. There is a LOT I don't know about skating and the judging involved. But I do like to know the scores as well as the placements. Is it my responsibilty? Of course not! I don't need to see the score sheets and comments - that is really none of my business.
They announce the scores in gymnastics. They announce the scores in boxing. Freestyle snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX freestyle, etc... Why not cheerleading? Even football, baseball and basketball has stats on performance. Should I not talk about the football game on Monday, since I am not a player and therfore don't know what I am talking about?
As for being an ignorant parent, I say educate me! If I thought Pixies Twinkle Toes was better than Tamaras Flyers explain to me that the Flyers had more difficulty in their jumps, their team had more advanced tumbling, whatever. Tell me that bent legs in the stunts lowered the score. I agree that the majority of parents don't understand what the judges are scoring on, and even if we do, it happens so fast that we miss a lot of it. Does that mean I should remain in the dark?

Thank you... All I was trying to say from the beginning is that i t would be nice to know the scores not the details. It was never my intention to be called a nosey parent or anything like that. You stated exactly what I was trying to say.
Every Sport you know the score at the end. The coaches know the stats detalis etc... It would be nice to know that too at Jamz competitions.
Why it ws taken the wrong way is beyond me. I wasn't asking to see the score sheets or even to know any details on the score sheet . Just the anouncement of the scores. We all want to say how cheerleading is one of the hardest "sports" and in every "sport" you know the scores!
