Did I miss it or did Jamz not recognize the Pyramids Special Needs team at the award ceremony? Thankfully, they were not expected to stay until 11pm but I would have expected that they would have been mentioned. Did they get a trophey or medals? Just curious because they put on a great perfomance. They get so much better at each competition. Great work Jodi and staff!
they got medals and were recognized. they are an awesome group of talent!!!
I cheer for royals and yes one of our fliers accidentally over rotated in her cradle, our coach tells us when we get off how things went and we all knew this happened.. after comp she did take it to the judges to let them know..We love cheergyms and Morton, some of us used to be on cheergyms..and wntd to let the judges know there was a missed penalty.. I think motions is amazing and swat was good too! Overall everone great job Cheer odyssey Rocks! Motions are sOOO amazing! and Hip hop was good TOO! And thank u coach B for ur nice comments! We love odyssey!!!
over rotated COME ON???!!!! please the only acceptable outcome even if the flier did over rotate is a fair deduction and fair placement. If any one else executes a skill by accident do they have the right to go and tell them and explain that they just did it accodentily.... please dont penalize us for it? or Im sorry my fliers foot slipped and we coudnt really cradlle on count... wait here is one better... i now i cant throw a full in level three tumbling but it was an accident because we moved down... give me a break!! NO they dont and if Jamz allows this to happen, just add one more reason why you shouldn't attend JAMZ competitions.
I'm sorry but we all are smarter than that and it is what it is unfair period.
loving a program and the owners etc yadda yadda yadda does not excuse unfair judging period.
not saying royals performance wasnt great but a deduction is a deduction. if it doesn;t matter then cheer gyms all across should do illegal stunts and be able to get away with it.
also if it was brought to jamz attention and they still awared first place. that menas they knew it was done and have no regards to the rules for their own
ill say it again
it is unfair
Come on now. Why are your bashing. Unfair maybe but come on to blame them. You are trying to start drama aren't you. of course this is anonymous but they said who they were and you sit her and shoot daggers then dont even say who you are.
remember it is the rules judges discretion. he/she can give warnings at these regional comps (i think) but for nationals they are given especially the 10 pt. deductions. we all make mistakes and if they didnt see the mistake, boo. and if they did and didnt catch it on time they probably try and stay consistant by not giving the others.
All I have to say is Jamz just moved up to my number one spot as the "worst ran competition to date". You'd think this was there first time running a competition. As for the competition, most of the teams there are "Jamz" type teams. It's always been a little bias and a West Coast competition for good reason. As for the Royals vs Motions thing, so they had an off day every team does. Motions is usually amazing so good for Royals for cashing in.
But someone please post cheergyms jr 4 team and Odyssey I got to see this so called tie, I've seen them and they could beat most sr 4 teams (maybe even their own). And a "wow factor" now that couldn't be any shadier than the old school score sheets that gave points for appearance and uniforms.
Way to go Jamz! Thank goodness for the better options of competitions.

saw the special needs team get medal like things, nothing reall fancy. I did not hear them get reconized during awards. That doesn't seem right. Oh well, they looked good. Loved the front stretch.

This is ridiculous. The second your team does not do as well as you like you always find a reason why that has nothing to do with your performance.
I have a couple of questions. When Motions messes up in their pyramid and doesnt catch the foot properly before she flips and they still win a division, no came on here and said foul. Do the motions people believe that they are unbeatable and cant be beat but such a team as Royal's? The sportmanship you are displaying is very dissapointing. I know that even if I am upset with my performance I would never come on here and downplay someone else's.
Thats what I love about my coach. She may be over the top sometimes, but she has never blamed anyone or anything for our placements. I feel that we are very educated about our divsions and what is needed and that is why we dont cry foul if someone beats us fair and square. Have respect for the sport and own up and congradulate the other team if they had a better routine, elite section or day for that matter. As my coach always jokes, 'it's just cheerleading'

-An Airborne Girl
I agree that this is getting ridiculous. But your post is just as negative as the ones you are complaining about. If you are indeed are from Airborne I can't imagine your coach coming on this board and feeding into this negativity.
I know right. I've seen our junior 4 and they could beat most senior 4 teams too. lol.
GET OVER IT.
TRUST the kids were dope. I'm sure pyramids rocked the house, and I know our girls did their best too.
The problem is that the skill set of one team was much, much, much, much higher that the skill set of the other. If the kigher skill set hits and the choregraphy is there then the better team should win. Love that you think your girls are great. but fair is fair

I didn't see higher skills in one team and not the other. I thought both teams performed the highest skills allowed for the level. I saw lots of layouts (all piked in Motions) from both teams, including a layout through to a layout on Odyssey. I, for one, am not sure what amazing skills you're talking about.
I agree that jamz messes up, there were a lot of 10 point deductions i saw that were not caught.. motions level 2...cheer odyssey minis did a stunt that another gym did before and got a 10 POINT deduction for...which put them in last place...
I'm curious as to what you think the minis did that was not legal for their level?
I would like to thank the cheergym coaches for posting positive comments on the board. I used to think that cheergyms was an overall classy organization with parents who were good sports and I see that is not the truth. I feel that the judging was fair. There are always things that judges miss, I believe the judge failed to penalize motions for touch downs or bobbles at certain competitions. If the roles were reversed we would not hear these complaints. Dont bash the company or the judges but encourage your children to become better athletes. This board has severly changes my opinion about the parents of this organization
I personally am from the Motions Sr. Coed team and I speak for myself as well as the majority, if not my whole team when I say that we know that we were beat by a better team that day and that in no way do we feel that we are "unbeatable" or anything related to that, if anything its just more motivation to improve for next time. I think that a lot of comments Ive read in this post have been almost as if people are putting words or personalities on us that arent true at all, and its really unappreciative. Like Ive always heard in the past, leave the competition on the floor and up to the judges, it doesnt need to be talked about and discussed to such far lengths afterwards especially when people say such rude comments. If someone does want to state their personal opinion to a gym, perhaps you should contact their respective program director or owner.
When it's all said in done, every team that competed put their hearts and hard work into Sunday's competition. There may have been a few upsets that happened, because the "undergog -if that is the right word) may have come out on top! But cheerleading is a sport just like any other sport (except way harder) and its any given sunday or hey any given saturday! The best team one that day!
It doesnt mean that those teams that didnt place first weren't equally as talented... It was just their day.
I always go back to the great sport of football. Look at the COLTS this past weekend with the great Payten Manning. A team that won the super bowl, had basically an unbeatable season and they lost on Sunday! Look at his little brother Eli Manning from the giants, the underdogs against the cowboys and they came home with a victory. Noone would have thought that the giants would beat the better footbal team record holders Dallas. WOW ON ANY GIVEN SUNDAY RIGHT! were there bad calls, yes because the human eyes are not perfect. But the better team one that day.
Cheerleading is the same. The team you think can never be beaten, well they can! YOu can have a perfect season,be the top dawg all year, hell you cab even be the top dawg for a few seasons, but sooner or later there will be a squad who will work hard and have that one great performance and will have their day as the top dawg. Give them their glory as well as all the athletes that have been training all season long.
Congratulations to all the teams and Royals enjoy your crown.... because there are teams out there now who are hungry for it too. Motions and cheergyms, you all rock and it's an honor and such grand bragging rights to beat your teams. Thats says so much about your orginization! Thank you for giving us all something to shoot for!
