MOTIONS COED has a dope routine, who choreographed it?
any other awesome routines yesterday? any feedback? how were the new teams people were talking about earlier. I really wish i could have gone to this comp, its seems like it was pretty crazy with talent.
I think the bottom line is this. Our sport is very subjective sometimes. The first thing we need to make sure we do is NOT take away from others accomplishments. All of the kids and coaches and parents of every team work hard to help their teams do the best they can. Sometimes you win....sometimes you don't.
As for the "illegal stunt", I feel that the Royal staff is plenty smart enough to not have their athlete do something illegal on purpose. Whether or not a deduction was applied is not the responsibility of the Royals. The Royals Co-Ed 4 team looked great yesterday and the judges felt they looked the best. Done. To the CG athletes...if we're waiting around for legalities to save the day we're in trouble. If you're posting negatively on this board you need to stop, get back in the gym, and put a buffer between you and second place that leaves no doubt. Work for it. No excuses.
As for the competition itself. Yeah....there were some things that JAMZ needs to look at and improve upon. I definitely think they cater to a certain kind of gym like all companies do. As a staff we at cheergyms.com know that and accept that. Yesterday we lost a couple division we thought we had and won a couple we thought we lost. If it gets to the point where it's not fun any longer then we'll stop attending. Until then we have make the best of it and teach our kids that there is more to cheerleading then winning and losing. JAMZ didn't drag us there. We will listen to our customers and make the best decision we can for next year.
I do know this. The owner of JAMZ (Marty) is a good and honest person and has always had her customers best interest in mind. She has always been open to criticism and has never claimed to be perfect. Like with any form of service, let her know how you feel. She wants to provide the best competition she can.
Congrats to everyone that performed at UC Davis yesterday.

Congrats to Royals. You all had an awesome day yesterday! I was really impressed with all of your teams.
Regarding the "illegal" moves and deductions I feel the need to put in my two cents: please consider that just because a team had obvious deductions (or not so obvious) doesn't mean they didn't outscore their opponents. Motions definitely had their share of deductions as well. I say take responsibility for what you can control and don't sweat the rest.
Also, WAY TO GO Motions Juniors! Working it out with the wrong music, then coming back and doing it again to the right music looking even better! This mom is so proud of you girls.
*warning* the following is my opinion, take it for what its worth
I may not coach any of the Motions teams anymore, but having been a coach and PD there for 6 years I obviously still have some ties there and, I believe, a right to say what I am about to say.
If you are an athlete, friend, family member or fan of the Motions program quit saying that Motions was robbed, cheated, judged unfairly, etc. Rather, do the following two things in their specific order:
1. Admit that Motions Coed was beaten by a better team yesterday. It may be hard to swallow, it may not feel good, but admit it anyways because right now, that is the truth.
2. Do something productive about number 1. If you're on the team, are you tumbling? There's a handful that don't, so get some tumbling. If you do tumble, how is your technique? Most Motions athletes know how I feel about layouts...I have yet to see a real layout performed at competition this season. Hit your stunts cleanly, leave no doubt. How's your motion timing? The point is, make yourself better for your team and then when you are at practice, don't waste time. As your music says, "don't get jealous, get better"

But ... its whatever
Proud parent
Can't say everyone is on the Royal case. they are saying the JAMZ system is some what wacked. Penalties missed for some teams and yet others were tagged for everything. People just want consistancy. That's all nothing more.
PERFECT score? I have yet to see a PERFECT routine so how can a routine receive a perfect score. The Wow factor or extra credit is subjective and can be handed out if a judge "feels" like it. That's were the scoring system gets a bit shady.
Did I miss it or did Jamz not recognize the Pyramids Special Needs team at the award ceremony? Thankfully, they were not expected to stay until 11pm but I would have expected that they would have been mentioned. Did they get a trophey or medals? Just curious because they put on a great perfomance. They get so much better at each competition. Great work Jodi and staff!
Well i think its FUNNY , how everyone is getting on royals case. Hm , mabey because of JELOUSY ? Royals preformed AMAZING and had there best preformance yet. Yes, it was an ACCIDENT that the flyer double downed . And i bet your teams flyer has accidents too. So i say get over yourselves on being on THERE case, and step up your own game , because clearly you have to spend all your time figuring out how they got a 101% and you didnt.

Not quite sure who you are addressing here... plenty of folks have made it clear that if anyone is to blame it is Jamz and that the answer is, as AceDad and others posted, hit your routine and leave no doubt. That way when these incidents occur, and they will occur again, you may not be impacted next time. Read through the posts and take a deep breath before responding; we all agree Royals did an awesome job, as did Motions.
i saw a girl on cheergyms.com college after they performed put a cast on can someone from cheergyms.com tell me what was going on with this?
I was not a fan of JAMZ yesterday way too lon of a comp. also why did motions perform twice?
i heard they played the wrong music. i think if you send someone to play your music you need to give them the right music and tell them what track it is.
