I notice some gyms seem to attend ALL the Jamz regionals rather than mixing it up and attending a wider variety of other competitions.  It looks like there will be good competition at this one.

Seems like the turnout for a lot of the competitions this year is small.  I also noticed that Cheer Odyssey and Starstuck seem to be regulars at all the Jamz competitions.   There are some good teams attending.  Wish everyone good luck.

Swat and Royal allstars always seem to attend the Jamz competitions as well.  Good luck to everyone as well.

We really don't have much to choose from in Nor Cal.  Southern California has the bigger named companies. WE have cheersport , athletic championships, jamfest, GSSA, Americas Best, and Jamz. There are some other local comps, but for the most part thats what we have. We need NCA, Coastal Alliance, Champion, Champion Cheer Express, All Star Challenge, WSF, and other organizations. I am one who is way OVER Jamz,USA,and GSSA.

Then there would literally not be any competition for anyone because people would be that much more spread out. I for one wish there were fewer.

I too wish that we could get WSF, NCA and All Star Challenge out here and eliminate USA, UCA ... and honestly some JAMZ competitions. I love that cheersport has ventured out here!

JAMZ, have to say done with them.  just checked the schedule. they want the little one's to stay all day and night.  It's too difficult asking a tiny to perform at 2:30 and wait until 9:30 pm for the results.   that's just crazy.

coastal alliance tried to come to nor cal the last two years.  it didn't work for them so they didn't come back this year.

Still like GSSA and UCA.

It's funny because people keep saying that, but most of the comps have had 3 or more teams in many of the divisions. Jamz had quite a few teams at the Cow palace competition. Cheersport seems to be a large competition and so was GSSA. In addition Athletic Championships and Jamfest has great attendance as well. So tell me what competitions have had no one to compete against. If your talking about level 4 and especially 5, then your not going to find it because not every gym has that level. Those are more elite skills and should be very small.

Why can't they offer All Star Only competitions and have Youth, School, and Rec teams go on a completely different day. Same as studio dance competitions. It's studio based teams only at event such as Starpower. I think it would make the days shorter, awards easier, and just easier on everyone so nobody has to be at a cheer competition very late in the evening. I am not sure about everyone else but leaving cheerleading events at 10:00 PM is not fun.

WOW - 9:30 awards and it is on a Sunday.  That is a tuff one for the little ones who have school the next day.

Good Luck to all the teams

I do think at least the dance portions should be run on a different day or an alternate location.  The dance teams shouldn't be performing on a spring floor anyway.  They don't need the spring floor nor the entire 54 x 43 square foot area.

Perhaps the rental of the facility has something to do with it.  It's probably cheaper to rent the facility for one day versus two.  In addition, you don't have to pay your competition staff for an additional day, etc.  It's all about how much money these competition hosts profit.

I don't really understand why they don't divide it up in a more rational way. Do all the youth/rec, then maybe schools, then dance, then AS cheer. Or whatever, but just group them together. The way JAMZ does it (youth 2, then senior 4, then junior hip hop, then middle school novice, then mini 1, etc) drives me bonkers. There's just no rhyme or reason to how it's organized.

I have to agree with the posts that state we have too many regionals to choose from, and I think Jamz offers too many regionals per season.  If they kept it to two they would be awesome, with plenty of competition in each division.  Maybe one reason gyms compete in all their Xtreme competitions is the prize money, which is attractive for larger gyms and comes in handy for those getting ready for Worlds.  Most if not all the other regionals do not offer cash prizes.

Small gyms have won cash prizes there too.  It's a nice incentive; I agree that might be what draws some gyms there.  I also agree Jamz has too many local regionals.

I don't think they have to many regionals because all the dates don't fit every gym. People have to remember that all star teams are made up of a variety of kids from different areas so you have to adjust to all schedules. I just think that many companies need to just offer all star only events. Look at All Star Challenge, all star only. USA offers some regionals with all star only, although they are not big it has nothing to do with the all star only part, just that teams don't like USA.

Since Jamz regionals combine small with large teams (something I do not agree with at all), there is usually enough competition in each division to satisfy most.  The schedule for this one is strange and unorganized, mixing dance with cheer.  I like the idea of keeping dance and high school gyms separate.
