Maybe people are not returning for other reasons.  I have heard of teams not attending because they do not want to support the cheergyms program.  Many teams are angry that they are double teamming their AA kids on lower level.  I know that those teams dont compete at SS but I know we are not attending because our program is not supportive of the decision that they made with their program this year.

I'm not a fan of what they have done this year as well, no matter how they justify it.  But if you think about it, since these "level 4" teams can't compete, this would be a chance for other junior/senior level 4 teams to have a better chance at winning.  They won't have to go against all the level 5 talent on these level 4 teams, not this time.

Goodness they have not even posted the schedule yet.  I doubt very much that there is some organized boycott of this competition.   Cheergyms runs a very good comp and and I'm sure this one will be just as sucessful.   It's to bad you won't be attending.  When we attended one we had a great time.

I have heard this too. It isnt just one person or gym. There are some gyms out there that aren't happy with the root Cheergyms took.  Oh well, I am sure some gyms will go besides high schools.  It could be that it is in the middle of many other competitions and it doesnt fit into other gyms schedules.  No offense to cheergyms but your competition isn't well known and isnt too important compared to the others out there.  Why bail on a great competition for a get together.  Good Luck with the registration process though, I am sure you'll get some gyms.  If all else fails, you have enough teams to put up a good performance.  Cheergyms, AP and CSE.  Yall can to a showcase!

Well if I'm not mistaken the COA competition is on the same day. Many teams may be attending that competition in San Francisco. I believe CSE will be there

I am a former judge for the past few years at COA and I am scheduled this season to work the event (not as a judge). There is a competition the same day that Cheergyms is hosting their event just like cheersport and athletic is having one the same weekend, so of course the turn out for each event will be smaller than usual.  Unfortunately for cheergyms, COA is somewhat a popular event for a lot of gyms in Feb. so those gyms probably have intended on going to this event out of habit.  I am sure there are more teams out there that will attend cheergyms competition and just haven't posted yet! The same rumor was started about another nor cal gym hosting a competition and that competition was a fun and competiitive comp, with some amazing gyms representing nor cal.
I personally think that cheergyms host a very well run competition and so does coa. Not one is better than the other.

As we have all discussed before there are way too many competitions and it is making it hard to truly compete against other teams. That seems to be the trend this season and it's obviously not a trend that most are too fond of.  Hopefully all the cheer gym owners will recap this season and make decisions to attend well ran events and eliminate some of these other competitions by not attending.

There are way too many National competitions and Championships.  Bring back the days of regionals where you qualify for Nationals and compete for that "true National title"

Best of luck to all the teams this upcoming year 2008

Everyone have a safe New Year and see you all in 2008

Why do you assume that the above group that you just mentioned has a problem with this.  Maybe they do maybe they dont but I dont think it is right to assume that.  From looking at what teams are in each division from each gym I don't think they have any teams that would compete against each other.  Why do you need to be so rude?
