RE: Opiniion please...

I can't seem to get in the spirit of Christmas this season.  I haven't put up my tree, strung any lights outside, purchased any presents, nor sent out any Christmas cards.

And now I know why, because we are not allowed to talk about Christmas.

I am finally listening to the "Big Brother" voices in my head.   "you can't enjoy your family customs, it's not politically correct."  We are becoming a bunch of puppets all because we are worried about hurting people's feelings.  The fear of being sued by someone twisting the english language and creating different meaning of certain words or phases (ex: hohoho).

When is society going to say that's enough to those individuals that are looking for a fast buck through the court systems?  This is a sue happy country and society is letting it happen.  Just plan sad!

Happy Holidays only refers to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza & New Years.  Does that not cover everyone's holiday??  Why would you boycott a store that does not wish you a Merry Christmas??  Do you not feel that other people should be wished well this time of year??  Or only people who celebrate Christmas?  I do not think that a Christmas tree should be called a Family tree,  but lets face it....Christmas is everywhere!  Noone can try and get rid of it.  Just walk into Costco in September.  They are already selling Christmas decorations.  There is no offense with that.
Please just wish everyone (whatever they may celebrate) a Happy Holidays & keep with the festive holiday cheer!

So to become a little educated on Kwanzaa i  google searched it and wikipedia says that: kwanzaa is a week long pan african festival celebrated primarily in the united states honoring african american heritage.

while i know i will now be opening a can of worms i will say that kwanzaa is not a national "holiday" per say according to all the websites i looked at and when hannukah is over the next holiday is christmas. So, i think before  and throughout hannukah happy holidays should be used but after that Merry Christmas. After christmas they can say happy new years. that is jmo.evileyefear.gifpeace.gif
