Just a question that pertains to how all of these teams benefited from the cheergyms.com, Ap, CSE "merger". How many kids from Ap and CSE are on the All American teams?
What does it matter? That question was already answered on another thread.

It was an easy enough question to answer. Hey, the guy that flys on the AA co-ed, was that the kid from SWAT?
I am not sure why Airborne would need a level 5 team to be on. There level 5 is really good this year
Great for Airborne! I haven't seen their level 5 team yet. Is this team on the same level as the world bid team? Most of the time when teams are at a new level for the first season things tend to be a bit shaky or the teams realize that their choreography is not quite there. It may take a few years at this level to establish Airborne at the world bid level. Good LUCK Airborne! BEAT them!
Airborne is in the Small Senior 5 division so the type of routine created for them will be different then the Small coed AA team. They are working really hard at Level 5 and hope to contend to get a bid. Thank you for the good wishes.

To be honest, it does not take much to get to Worlds. Every level 5 team from Norcal got one last year ( except 1 team). Everyone acts like it is such a big deal, but anyone can get there. Ariborne will be there and Im sure they will do quite well.

I think it will be harder since bids are not being passed down, plus there aren't many bids up here other than GSSA. Also the level 5 teams up here are pretty strong, so I wouldn't say it's easy, but maybe the coaches and kids are very talented. There were MANY level 5 teams not at worlds.
I agree. And to be honest, what has AP or CSE gained this season from their partnership? They got to go to camp with Cheergyms (brings in more money to cheergyms) and they GET to let their top athletes cheer for All-American (which I imagine benfits cheergyms). AP and CSE don't seem to have a dramatic change in their style or presentation. I don't see all the gyms rooting for each other at comps. Lastly, and probably I over-analyzed this, but where is AP in Nelson's video? =)
Both AP and CSE are doing fine. AP continues to thrive and from thier performances so far this year are doing great. Love thier Senior Level 2 teams choreography. CSE is only in it's second year and has grown and continues to grow. This cheer season they have placed well at every competition they have attended and will continue to improve. As far as changes in thier style that was never the intent when they affiliated with Cheergyms. They are separate gyms, with thier own owners and coaches. They all have thier own unique style and that will not change. As far Nelson's video, it is a video of the Cheergyms teams and a good one at that. I love it. All of these gyms have thier own unique style and I wish them all good luck this season.
I think you are missing the point, which is what did they gain with the partnership? They may be doing fine but the question is would they have been doing fine without it? I would guess yes. I respect and admire cheergyms, but I agree it is not for everyone, as we have seen with the closing of gyms. Someone made an excellent point about the economy and how it may impact all star gyms; I sure hope that isn't the case.
Okay someone has got to spit this out because I have been thinking about this way too long. I know there are people out there that agree with what I have to say since I have discussed this with many people. I can't stand holding it in any longer. The combined cheergyms.com, AP, and CSE is the weirdest idea ever. Lets take all our best kids and place them on a All American team. Honestly, I believe they did this to make a super team. They need the level 5 kids to make a level 5 team for worlds. Their gyms were not providing it so what better way to make it work. AP, CSE, You shouldnt have done it, have pride in your own gyms! CSE wasn't even open that long and Cheergyms jump on that. There is something a little weird about that.
I hope Airborne DOES NOT jump into this with them. They have a lot going for them and its better to show you can do it alone.
As for this being the "future" of cheer (I read in a magazine). Yes, lets get all these gyms to go together so they beat all the other gyms! Lets show teams in the East that they can do it to so in the future there will only be 10 gyms with a millon gyms to them.
Don't sit there and say it was to help the smaller gyms and stregthen cheerleading, excuse me while I throw up. It's called POWER (not the gym). Where did it become you have to be the best? What ever happened to having fun?
I liked cheergyms but ever since the gyms closed and this partnership came out, I question the value of these gyms.
I know I will be attacked for this which is fine. I wasn't going on here to make a converstation. I finally, got the guts, to come on here and blurt out what has been driving me crazy for so long. On the flip side, good luck to these gyms and hopefully you succeed in whatever you are TRUELY trying to succeed in. Remember the people who will write back to this with be the individuals who don't see it from a larger point of view. PLEASE, READ INTERVIEWS ABOUT IT AND RESEARCH, ITS A LITTLE FISHY!
majority of the boys and girls that are on AA are from Pyramids and Motions. there are two girls from AP and none from CSE. in my opinion this is giving the two girls a oportunity they would not be able to have at AP, a chance at worlds.
Have a chance? they wont be able to have a chance? Hm, I find that insulting towards the programs. I think AP would eventually have a level 5. They have a great coaching staff
i dont think that the person ment have a chance as in AP will never have a level 5 team because they will eventually but for older girls who are graduating like Jill from AP this is a great way for her to be able to go. Cheer is like a second family for most children i look at the partnership as them forming a BIGGER family.
I, too, am sure that AP will have a L5 team, but they don't now. This gives those the opportunity now - and without leaving the gym they love.
I give more credit to the owners of AP and CSE than to think they got duped into anything (I know those weren't the exact words, but that's impression I get from some of the posts on here). I don't know what all the business related pluses are to this partnership, but I'm sure they are there - why else would AP, cheergyms and CSE agree to this?
Personally, I do feel this subject was to throw daggers at a Elk Grove gym, yet again. Whatever!
Here are some facts about Elk Grove.
1. There is a huge cheer population that is heavy in the pop warner/jr programs. The current All Star programs can't seem to change this strong bond to the jr. Football. These jr programs have all the young girls convinced that if you don't cheer through the jr. program, you won't be successful making the high school teams.
3. High school cheer takes a ton of talent. These high schools discourage their girls to cheer anywhere else but at their school. The high schools do not compete but still do not allow their girls to miss a practice session at high school nor do the coaches look for ways to alter a schedule so a cheerleader can do both. So, it is very raw that the local high school cheerleaders do both high school cheer and All-Star cheer.
2. $$$$ are a huge concern. If you want to open a gym, be prepared to make little profit. The gym owners need to get in the business because of their passion for the sport and not the paycheck.
3. There is currently an all star program located in Elk Grove. In addition, there is another all star program in South Sac, that is minutes away from Elk Grove.
4. Timin -and finally, the foreclosures that are popping up all over (economy is hurting in Elk Grove), are trickly down to the luxury items (yes, cheerleading is a luxury), and everyone is tightening their wallets.
Perhaps, opening up any business would be bad timing for now. The economy shows no sign of improvement, yet. I say go where the money is and make something happen. Southern California is the best bet at this time.
Why is it when someone makes a comment it is always drama with UCF. Nobody is throwing daggers. But it always seems that UCF comes running to become defensive and yet again. I thought this was cheergyms.com not UCF.com. I hear too much about UCF on here. It is always refreshing to hear about someone else.
Reading the constant attacks made on this board on these gyms is getting really old. You say that you "finally, got the guts, to come on here and blurt out what has been driving me crazy for so long" but you post this anonymously. If you are that upset why don't you contact Cheergyms directly and voice your concerns.
I agree, I think a certain small gym in Elk Grove is a little defensive.
I would however like to get back to the original topic.
Would love to see a new gym come to Elk Grove (or at least within 15-20 miles of), whether it be cheergyms, Power, Cheer Odyssey.
I believe there are plenty of cheerleaders to go around and that the more variety the better - what is the saying competition makes people stronger....

That's untrue. She posted under her registered name.

I'm sorry my mistake. I still think if your that concerned contact the gym directly.
