Well as a whole, the teams were great, the competition itself still needs alot of work. The schedule was horrible, with dance in the middle, seniors first and mini/youth on later in the day. The breaks were to long and the scoresheet itself needs work. Its like jamfest, but not the same. I think GSSA still needs some work as far as organization. I really enjoyed watching UCF actually. Never seen them, but they have talent, and so does Sac Royals. I feel both of their programs need to be sharper and tighten up their arm placements. They seem to be a little wild. As always the POWER fans were amazing.
Thanks for the Kudos on our teams. I am very proud of all of our members.
Senior Open 3 will remain in Senior Open 3. We DO NOT have the tumbling skills (pass or Standing), Individual Stunts (twisting out of stunts), or pyramid to compete in Senior Open 4. The ONLY reason we competed in that division was lack of competition.
As with all of our teams, we will only allow members to compete at levels which are in line with their skills. We will not enter divisions/levels just because we think we can win, instead we enter divisions/levles that are in line with the skills of the members on each team. We base all teams / levels off of the USASF level guidelines, not off of whom is in that division in our area.
I hope this clears up any questions, and now lets focus on the great performances of yesterdays competition.
Congratulations Fusion Mini 2. Yall did awesome yesterday and are bunch of talented young ladies.
Motions, nice tumbling and elite section, maybe one problem with the elite's I think. After the basket in the middle during the pyramid it looked like one of the girls lifting the middle girl in the straddle flip thing missed her foot. They also had another problem in the pyramid.
Riptide, really creative stunts and a very pretty pyramid. I think the routine was a little slow. I think it was close between the two.
Just a questin: What do you mean by "elite section"? What's an elite?
i agree loved the all american "cheese" part but have to say the "introducing" part in the music takes away from the performance as a TEAM and no pun intended is way toooooooo "cheesy", also if i was those peoples bases i would kinda be like why is this person getting the spotlight while im holding them up, lol! id say throw in a team stunt or more motions there, would be much more intertaining than the what seemed like stop in the routine.
special needs, cant say enough was a joy to see!
power 5, amazing! sorry people but all 12 partner stunts on an all girl team is awesome. cant wait to see this team keep stepping it up. definitely the highlight of the day!
Just my opinion on the small senior level 4 teams - Pyramids were great and since the majority of their team is on AA they should be great. I thought it was close between Fusion, Cheer Xplosion and All Star Elite, I enjoyed all three routines.
I wasn't there to see Open Level 4 perform. I know there were three teams. Was POWER's Level 3, who competed in 4, not deserving to win that division?
I thought they were quite deserving of the win...very clean entertaining routine.
The key word there was "clean". Power Open 3 put a clean performance on the floor. It looked like the same Open 3 routine with a several girl throwing layouts instead of tucks. No 540's, no double downs, no kick fulls, no standing tucks. But sometimes that's all it takes. You wait for the other teams to penalize themselves. They didn't out skill the other teams certainly.
UCF was technically stronger- throwing level 4 skills - without a doubt. That team had 3 two-man stunts on the floor, in addition, they had 5 elites total, with only 18 girls. That's guts! They could have easily put up 3 to 4 safe stunts and kepted their elites super clean. However, when you take risk you chance a fall and that's what happened to them. UCF was the better team yesterday, if the fall didn't happen, and I won't be surprised if they don't end up the National champs by the end of the season. UCF has officially ranked themselves in the level 4 category. And I might add those girls stunting those two mans are stunting right with POWER's level 5 team. Great job UCF! (Perhaps, CHEERGYMS should call UCF up and set up their next partnership. Those girls can stunt their booties off. Just a thought)
Rebel Open 4 team had a rough day. Where did all that tumbling come from? What a difference from last season. That team certainly have grown with some great talent. The team looked a be nervous today and perhaps not everyone is comfortable with the routine yet. It's tough to see a pyramid not go up. Probably it's just a timing thing. Rebels will get there.
Maybe we come from two different schools of thought but putting stunts/pyramids or anything in your routine that is not perfected in practice is not the smartest coaching move. Why would you set yourself up failure like that? Putting up 3 to 4 safe stunts that are clean are going to score you more points than 4-5 that shake and have any chance of falling. Last time I checked, most competitions have Deductions....
My favorite youth team is Pyramids! They did Great yesterday! I just love that little blond flyer, she is so fun to watch! (Ok, I must confess that she is my baby sister. ) Congrats--to the entire team!!!!!!!!!
I must say that A.P. was robbed yesterday. I couldn't believe they took 6th. They looked great...the best I have ever seen them! Did I miss something? Keep up the great work A.P.!
this comp was way to long! we have been talking abou tthis and think so but maybe somebody knows for sure. is there a girl on power that used to be on nor cal? we saw who we think was her when she walked onto the center front for senior 5 yesterday. she had a super good kick double, flying and tumbling. she was a really good flyer and tumbler at nor cal so we think its the same girl. anyways power all looked really good and the stunting and tumbling was the best of the day.
all american 5 was fun and looked good to but was a little messy. they will be super good in coed and i cant wait to see them later.
Let's not take the following question personally , here it goes.
Did Club Spirit Small 5 throw any level 5 skills this morning? I only saw them throw layouts. I was also suprised on how small the team was. Was that the whole team?
Thank you just curious. Not bashing.
No problem. The Senior 5 team was only exhibition because of girls quitting and getting hurt. They will remain Level 4 for the remainder of the season. They announced them as competing but only exhibited. Clear some questions up?
Been there (girls quitting, getting hurt)! It's so difficult to keep the same team and consistency throughout the season when things happen that are out of your control. I guess the trick is making the correct adjustments.

Yeah- That is Caitlyn. She is awesome. She can tumble and stunt like a crazy. she is point on their two man section and the elite in the pyramid.
congratulations to all the teams that performed yesterday. i wasn't at the comp but heard great things about the teams from friends. the only thing i really heard about all american was about the music, but noone is really talking about their skills, so how were they? Is the music too much? Anyone have video?
i did hear that the team that rocked the house was power senior 5. they are amazing and they are all girl too. you have to give them props for those stunts. They sure know what they are doing. (no I am not from power)
