They performed after POWER'S Level 5, I thought they were okay. The "say cheese" part was cute and different. I just wasn't impressed. Maybe I was still wowed over POWER's performance.

I think the post was ta;lking about American Cheer flyers out of bakersfield. POWER was yesterday in Sacramento. Truly amazing! Can't wait to see American Cheer!

Funny thing, the ucla comp was definitely on the 8th and the dominguez hills comp was on the 9th. Anyhow, since the comp was at my school I stayed through out most of the competition, but missed out on awards. some highlight performances:

supreme
A lot of talent, yet a lot of mistakes for this comp. One of their athletes who also cheers on Valhalla is still one of my most favorite cheerleaders to watch in terms of skill execution. She has gorgeous standing fulls and pretty solid doubles. Their new uniforms are cute although some of the boys unis seemed a bit too baggy (you should talk to your varsity rep about that I'm sure they would fix it.)
Small coed 3 had a really fun pyramid: inverted fly overs, reverse flip up to hitch, and toe pitch bird fronts. The two girl that throw the skills controlled the stunts very well; quite possibly the best bird fronts i've seen all season. However they seemed to have an off day with tumbling, hopefully thats get fixed before nationals.

Valhalla
OMG, by far the best high school team I've seen thus far. Both their JV and Varsity threw impressive skills with fast fun paced choreography. I'm a big fan of competitive high school teams, and what really set this team apart is their cheer/chant section. It was visual and executed with ease. They never lost volume or broke pace either, it was AMAZING. Skills thrown from both squads: standing fulls, fulls (8 or 9), stretch doubles (full squad), kick doubles (i think 4), and my favorite part had to be their full squad half up show and goes, split smoosh, toss doubles back up to elites. Their coaches get a big high five for stunt innovation and skill execution. I actually think this team stunts better than most all star teams.

American
Large 5: From what I could tell the team had a few injuries, yet still threw a pretty impressive shadow of what their routine "could" be. they open up with 12 scorp doubles to a wall of 2 to fulls and then doubles. Elites were full up stretch, overstretch, 7, to arabesque double. Both elite sections had falls and need some work, but still wayy impressive. Kick doubles were off the hook. 1/2 the pyramid didn't go up because the flyer was missing. HOWEVER, even with the mistakes the routine was pretty strong. all the tumbling stuck, just not the usual polish I typically expect from American. Hopefully they get better, I would love to watch this routine at full force. What i loved most is that their flyers looked like senior girls instead of 10 year olds. Props to them for being gutsy.

overall, great comp. Jamz was fun as always, and gave away a bunch of gifts like a wide screen plasma tv. I wish Paulley pavillion was up north, it truly was an amazing venue with alot of seating, great food (jamba, taco bell, gourmet salads sandwiches, all the ucla amenities), as well as good lighting.

No it's not. I think Team Victory is out of a gymnastics center ...? Not sure

but I know they are 2 different gyms
