How is it not a good turnout? Great competition in most divisions.

I did not say it wasn't going to be a good competition. Just I was supprised that the number of teams was not as great as I thought. A lot of talk about this competition on this board and I thought more teams were going to attend. It was just an observation thats all.

I'm not sure why we are on the schedule for this one - we are NOT attending. We expressed some interest earlier in the season but are not registered. Odd.

Wow, that really is strange. Also I thought you had to have your competition fees paid before they put you on the schedule, but I guess that's not the case?

I think any competition where you can't find any divisions where someone is not competing against another team is a good turnout.

How Rude to already judge how the teams will do! Why ? Why go on and post what you think? I hope the other teams you have not chosen prove you wrong!

Get over yourself, we have done that on numerous posts - guessed the winners and we even had a post polling whether or not folks should freak out over it. If something like that ruins your night than I guess you have bigger issues.

People make predictions about every competition. They're just guesses, no big deal.

It is the principle of the matter...sure guess the Worlds...guess other comps for the bids, but why do people always asume those teams that were picked will win? My child spent this afternoon and most of the evening with her team working very hard for this comp ...then to read this and know that some smarty pants has picked out their favorit teams...well it just rubbed me the wrong way....Sorry, I'm a mom...I would like to see my childs team do well!

I don't think anyone is "assuming" the teams they pick will win. I think people like guessing and seeing if they are right. Just because they "pick" a particular team doesn't mean they don't like the other teams...heck, half the time people pick teams just because they have a friend on that team, or because it's from their own gym, or because they like that team's uniforms. And I'm sure a lot of the time they don't even know the skill level of many of the teams in many of the divisions...they are just guessing based on gym name or previous history.

Everyone wants to see their own team or their own child's team do well, I'm sure. But if you look back on other threads it's done for every single competition at every level. If it bugs, my best advice would be to not open those threads or skip over the posts when you see predictions coming.

But really, don't feel hurt by it. No one means any harm, it's just something that's done around here and people like to guess. If you look back at the predictions in the past, probably 75% of them have been wrong. Early in the season people were making "predictions" about teams that hadn't even competed yet, so there was no way to know how good any of them would be. Don't lose sleep over it.

I do wish ALL the teams Good Luck and maybe there will be some surprises in some of the divisions!!! smile

Exactly. A couple other points.. be happy people no longer predict the exact order, which meant predicting who will come in last. Now that's rude in my opinion. But choosing the winners, no big deal. When our gym is predicted to come in first it does sometimes put a little pressure on them. I think they would prefer not to be listed to prove everyone wrong. It's easier to be the underdog. I don't agree with all the predictions and expect there will be some surprises!

I am so with you sometimes. Sometimes I will see something that sends me over the moon, and then later, I wonder why. I feel like a moth drawn to the flame. Why do I keep reading these boards, say I won't and then here I am again. Not trying to be rude, but be supportive!!!!!!! I hope it came out right. aww

Im sorry that was me i started to predict the excat order but then notice that it wasnt done like that so i went back and erased them but must of forgotten the top one... oops my bad (smile) biggrin
