For real this subject has been beaten to death.. Everytime I see response like this I think it is someone just trying to take a low blow at another team. These posts have completely lost thier credibility.
Since Open is 18 years and younger, anyone can go into this category, correct? Even if you don't have members younger than 10. It's an opportunity for anyone who wants the chance at a National Championship title by going against less teams. Might as well take advantage of it before it goes away.
Just curious are you a parent or a cheerleader? What team are you associated with? Do the teams choosing to compete in the open division effect you in any way?
has anyone thought about the "cheer companies" taking ownership. How about straight age divisions...Get rid if all this open and crossover stuff and "really" go head to head like true sports do. You don't see 8894574987 levels of football or basketball. I would say still have levels but not 776666876 catagories. make it a "real" competition.

It's time you get over this. Good luck to all the teams competing in the open division this year.
I agree it is time to close this topic. I really think it should be deleted. I think it is ok to state opinions, but it is not ok to keep using names unless you have something nice to say. I am from UCF and I think if the parents at UCF are unhappy, maybe it's time you just go to the owners and express your concern. Believe me it will help you understand things better. It is perfectly fine to have concerns about the program, but we can not tell them what levels to compete. If they are not meeting your "own personal" needs for your family. Then that is your right to move on and want something different. My daughter is on the level 4 open team there and this talk is starting to get really old. And our kids are reading these boards. You can't blame others for jumping on the band wagon, when our own members are on here criticizing their own program. ALTHOUGH I don't believe that some of these post are truly from UCF parents, especially level four parents. That is the most laid back set of parents and squad at UCF. The kids enjoy each other and really it is so drama free for being a "teenage" squad.
It could be a parent on UCF but I highly doubt it is a level 4 parent. It just doesn't make sense.
UCF is a doing great things for being a small gym. Their dedication to the sport of cheerleading and to the kids in their program is unique. There will never be a perfect gym, that is perfect in all areas.
If you are a UCF Parent and you are unhappy, take a look at the overall program. Is it something your kids are enjoying and maybe we as parents are over analyzing? And it is ok to do from time to time, we all do it... but think about if its worth all this public negativity. When your kids are done competing do they feel good about their accomplishments? I know my daughter was so excited about the overall score and that they added new people and things and did well at this last competition. Even though they were in their own division they performed like they were fighting for first. Are your kids safe and happy when you pick them up from the gym? Have you gone to the owner and express your concern and if not, do that first. give them the chance to explain things.
And if you are truly unhappy, let them know and go from there. But please it is hard enough for these kids to compete and be competitive. If the parents are not supporting the gym it just makes it harder for the gym owners and coaches to do their job!
