Cal Spirit has a senior level 3 open team, not 4.

I can't wait =).

It'll be a rough comp considering most programs (i think) were closed for the holidays.

hopefully we'll all get to see some new skills and routine changes. I know our gym will be making most of its changes after this comp right at the end of this year for nationals time; taking all the new skills and structuring stronger better more competitive routines.

I'm most excited to see (besides odyssey) both airborne and starstruck. they both had amazing early showings and I predict their routines will only get better. Good luck to everyone and can't wait to see yall again.

!!!!

They went to sr. open 4 this comp
it's always a good thing to do, so they can have thier pick when nationals come and they will have a bid for both divisions.

Or...

They probably just didn't want to compete against anyone? jk jk jk

lets be optimistic and pick the 1st of the 2.

I remember seeing them go against Cheer Odyssey's Sr Open Level 3 at the last Jamz; I would think they would want to compete against them again to try and win this time rather than move up and go against nobody?  I'm not being offensive, don't take this wrong, but why would a team that came in 2nd in level 3 move up to level 4?  I'm a little confused and I'm thinking the schedule is just a mistake.

Some of those categories are going to be crazy to watch, there is so much competition, I can't wait!

I wondered about this as well
Then it made me think of the post that just closed "sr open 4"
think there is a connection?

I cant wait to see the competition as well!

Right, this is what I thought too.   Unless they added quite a few new members with level 4 skills?

There are some really good teams attending.  I'm exicted to see Airborne, and have heard a lot about Legends.  CO has some good teams as well.  Loved Cal Spirits Sr lvl 2 team at Jamfest thought they did great.  Cheer With a Twist are another team that is fun to watch.  Oh and I can't forget Starstruck.  Good luck to everyone can't wait to see you all this weekend.

Good competition in the lower levels, no competition in the higher.  I think that will typically be the case until we get to Nationals.

I think it is just old that if a comp does not have Power and Cheergyms then it is not a great comp. Granted those programs are lots better than the ones going to this one. Hey have you ever thought that maybe THOSE gyms talk and want to stay away from them. Give them a break and let them compete. Then Power and Cheergyms can compete the next weekend. Leave the other gyms alone.

Once again when a gym signs up to go to the different competitions you have no idea who will be going.  No one is trying to stay away from the ones those gyms are going to.  It's wonderful that we have gyms like Power and Cheergyms with the higher level teams.  I agree they are awesome to watch.  But it all starts with the lower levels.  There are some very good teams going this weekend that I'm very excited to see.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Yes they do, but I don't think that was the point being made.  Just because certain gyms are not attending does not mean it won't be a good competition.

My daughter loves cheer.  We don't belong to the biggest gym.  Our teams may not be the top teams in thier divisions, but they put thier all into every performance.  When they go out on that competition floor they dream of having that one great performance and winning first place.  That may not always happen but they keep trying.  They work hard at practice and getting new skills.  When they do win it's been earned and well deserved.  It's very hurtful to read some of the comments made on this message board about teams that some feel are easy targets.  We are talking about kids here.  I realize this is a sport and it's all about winning.  It's just sometimes I wonder if good sportsmanship is a forgotten concept.  When you post a comment try and remember you are posting about kids with feelings that read this message board also.   Can you put yourselves in thier shoes and imagine reading all the negative comments made about your team and how you would feel.  Good luck to all the teams this weekend.

It's unfortunate the higher levels have few (or none!) to go against, but it will be great competition for the lower levels.

Finally, I'm glad to read something like this on here. This board has had some really rude comments made. I think the majority of the kids just love to cheer. Let them have that, PLEASE!
