Motions Coed 4 at Power

I hadn't posted this earlier because of the quality of the video, but this is the link to the Motions Senior Coed 4 at Power.

Where were the judges?  That pyramid was completely illegal.  I know it wasn't supposed to be that way, but the center flyer has to be braced on both sides to flip and she was not.

That's not a correct interpretation of the rule.  The rule says:

F. Pyramid transitions may involve inversions (including braced flips) while released from the bases if contact is maintained with at least 2 persons at prep level or below and the top person that has been released from the bases stays in continuous movement.
I had a team involved in this division that this probably would have made a difference for, but I am not here to argue that, just to point out the correct rule.

A team cannot receive a penalty for an obvious execution mistake like that.  It was clear that the pyramid was choreographed legally, but execution was the issue.  They should have lost points from the execution judges for not being able to successfully complete the pyramid, but not from a penalty judge.  They did not purposefully violate a rule.

I agree. Again, just pointing out the rule to the person who had it incorrect above.

It's just kind of a bummer to see a L5 team who competed at worlds go down a level....

I suppose saying that would make sense IF this were the team that competed at Worlds, but it's not.
