Pyramids senior 5 team (that competes senior 4) will be one of the best this year! Great routine, Great execution. Can't knock them at all. I think they should have taken first over POWER.
POWERS senior 5 teams need work, but when their routines are cleaned (which we all know will happen) they will be amazing. I was shocked at the final placements of the small senior divison.
I took video of the entire small senior 5 divison however I wouldn't fill comfortable posting anyone except my own gym. Fun competition overall can't wait to see all of these teams again at GSSA. I know the routines will be HOT!!!!!
Why would a true level 5 team compete Level 4? I'm confused. And if Pyramids is a true level 5 team competing in the 4 division....how did they not win? I'm even more confused.

This has been addressed in numerous other posts. Their answer is that although 15 out of 18 members on their Sr. Level 4 team are on the All American Level 5 team, they consider themselves a true level 4 team.

To many people it does seem odd but they have been able to get away with it so far. There is nobody that can tell me that 3 people bring down a level 5 team to a level 4 team, its kind of absurd! Think about it, its like moving up a level 3 team to level 4 because 3 members have a back-handspring tuck while the others have no tumbling. NOBODY would move a team up in that situation right? I have always been a fan of Cheergyms but I don't like this explaination we have been given. At least a true level 4 team that has NO crossovers to level 5 won (Hopefully this statement is true, props to POWER)

Well, no crossovers from Power, yet. Remember, they have 10 girls on their Small Level 5 that cross compete on their Large Level 5. So where will they get those extra 10 girls if both teams get bids? I would assume from their next highest skilled team...Small Sr 4. So...are half the team really true level 4 or are they level 5?

Good point Worlds Watcher, except the difference is that the level 4 girls would have to step it up if/when needed, challenge themselves, whereas the level 4's who are also on level 5's are challenging themselves now and throughout the regular season; so it's easier for the ones already at 5 to compete at 4, rather than the other way around (the ones competing at 4 that suddenly have to fill in at 5). Just my observation, I could be totally wrong. Either way, it's clear both teams are the teams to beat in that division and they'll both be exciting and entertaining to watch!
To the "stop hating" post, I was simply answering their question since it was previously answered on other posts. There's really nothing more to be said about the issue, it is what it is.
For me, I didnt get the hype from last week. Stunts fell, tumbling fell, transitions looked crazed with people running everywhere. I was looking forward to it but after all the buildup I was disappointed.

What about Legends? The new kid on the block?
Me too. Not what it was cracked or talked up to be.
Sorry but I have to say that I sat through the complete comp and the level 4 was the best performances by far..level 5 was just a HOT mess. It's still early in the season so we know that will change..

Worlds Watcher you seem so preoccupied with the crossovers that POWER has this year. Your concern is appreciated, but this is something that POWER really does not have this year. Yes we have crossovers from Small 5 to Large 5. Some have been there from the start, some are from injuries that will be gone soon. That is something that John really worked on last year, to get rid of most of the crossovers. The Senior 4 team is a Senior 4 team. There are NO crossovers to any other team. The majority of the team is working level 5 skills but they are not there yet.
I think it is odd that Power and NorCal are getting a bad rap for crossovers. Power has 10 crossovers total. Cheergyms.com in my opinion would be the worst offender this year conseidering EVERY member of their level 5 team crosses over to a LOWER level team. They have at least 55 between the two level 5 teams. That is not even counting all of the other crossovers. Someone stated that Motions has lots of crossovers.

Yes, you are right, I am obsessed with crossovers. But not just from Power or NCE, or Cheergyms. But any level 5 team (JR or Sr) that has crossovers to other level 5 teams. I'm not saying it is wrong, or that these teams are "cheating". My concern is how it will effect them if they get a bid to Worlds. California has some great opportunities to get bids this year and the more teams from California at Worlds the better. And the higher placement at Worlds...even better. So my motive of discussing this subject isn't to point out who is or isn't, if it is right or wrong, but how will it effect the teams, kids, and yes, the parents. Don't forget the angry parents when only 1 team out of 3 gets to go to Worlds because they have crossovers. And last year I do believe that CFs performances suffered because of the substitutions they had to make. I just hope we don't have to go through that all again and was hoping gyms/coaches were making plans early on to contend with the crossover issues at Worlds. Sounds like Power has a plan in place to replace 10 girls if needed. And NCE sounds like the coach will make the decision on which team will fair best at Worlds if they get multiple bids. And Cheergyms has resolved the crossover issue by only have their All American teams Level 5 with no crossovers between any All American team. So...besides CF, NCE, CGC, and Power, do any other level 5 teams have crossovers?

I have to assume that if those level 4 girls were already true level 5 cheerleaders, they would already be on the level 5 team and POWER would not have the crossovers between the large and small 5 teams. POWER never disappoints me and I'm sure this year will be no different. I have no problem with crossovers between same level teams, but I'm not so crazy about kids dropping down, unless its to fill an empty spot (like we need a base for this stunt to go up) and not just to add a few more fulls or layouts or whatever to the team.
How funny, I thought I missed something. I did not see the power competition but all the talk on the board, I made sure to watch Legends. But even if they hit a flawless routine, they did not meet the expectations. It was very basic and very safe. The uniforms were cute but nothing different from what I have seen before just adding some silver sequins. I also was surprised at how well Pryamids Jr and Senior LEvel 4 teams did , they were great.....the power competition talk should of been about them.
Just an FYI......No crossovers on CF level 5 teams this year.
Great job to all teams out there this past weekend. Pyramids...definetly the cleanist routines of the day. Can't wait to see all the teams later in the year when the routines get perfected with time and experience.....like they always do! Let's not be so critical so early in the season. I'm sure if they all attend Jamfest in LA, many will improve by a whole point!
Good Luck all, may your season be filled with wonderful memories and experiences!
