I love this topic.... I can't wait to see what other people are going to do in partner stunts this season... I mean where do you go up from "sevens", tilts, spikes, and needles? Haven't we seen it all, right?
Our level 5 is competing a body position that I have personally never seen anyone perform. I thought it up in my little brain but I never thought anyone would be able to do it... turns out all of them can. LOL. We'll see how the new body position compares to other teams this season.
I can't wait to see it! Last season Fierce was one of my favorite stunting teams!

FIERCE is ALWAYS one of my favorite stunting teams! lol I cannot wait 2 see them! at gssa, I hope!
ME TOO! I love the originality of the stunting that FIERCE has. It not your typical stunt that you see every team doing.. they "go outside of the box" if you will. I loved their opera stunt, and that amazing grace stunt..always gave me chills. Who makes those stunts up? The coaches/choreographers/ or does eveyone have a hand in it? Can't wait for this year.
It is the heel stretch tilty thingy. you know? Like when they go up to stretches and then tilt to the right and the bases turn a quarter turn to the right and their legs kinda look like 7's from the front.

haha jill ALWAYShas a way to get around the rules... hahaha jk, i love u sis!!!
ohh, and i forgot to add my 2 cents about this topic...lol. when POWER's large team hits that full up stunt perfectly (which they will no doubt next comp) i guarentee it will blow everyone away. All of them hit flawlessy in the warm up room and i was like, "WOOOOOO!!!" hahaha. :) great job girls!
Legally, you have to have the second base, even in level 5:
A. A spotter is required for all extended stunts. That doesn't necessarily mean they have to DO something...but if that person HAS to at least be there legally, you may as well put them to work helping to stabilize the stunt.
Worlds Watcher wrote: But a true "partner stunt" doesn't need the help to stabilize. Yes, the spotter has to be there, but they don't have to assist. The stronger, Worlds winning coed teams are doing true partner stunting with spotters, not assisted. That's what west coast teams need to strive for to compete against the best of the best. Keep practicing and it will come.

HEY YA'LL I'M WRITING THIS ONE AGAIN....SINCE MY POSTING FROM LAST NIGHT REPLYING TO WORLD'S WATCHER WAS DELETED... AND I'LL WRITE AGAIN SINCE I'M SURE IT'LL GET DELETED AGAIN.
SO WORLD'S WATCHER... HAVE YOU SEEN 2007'S LARGE COED WORLD CHAMPIONS? YEAH THEY'RE TOP GUN ... WILL YOU PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THIS LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHOOm7Szlbs
AND WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT???? THEY'RE FROM THE EAST COAST..... WELL SINCE YOU'RE A TRUE PARTNER STUNTER AND I'M ASSUMING YOU WEREN'T PART OF THE 12 ASSISTED PARTNER STUNTS THAT WERE PART OF THE TOP GUN CHAMPION ROUTINE....I SUGGEST YOU FIND YOURSELF SOMEONE TO ASSIST YOU IN YOUR STUNTING.... AND PLEASE STOP DRINK HATERADE!!!!
I wish I could stunt. The best stunt I can do is standing on the ground with one foot up off the ground about 2" for about 20seconds. Then BOOM! Down I go.
I guess you think I'm hating on teams, but I'm not. I've just seen some great partner stunting out there at Worlds and College teams and love it. West Coast teams haven't historically had lots of Level 5 Coed teams, so as they are up and coming, I would like to see them push to the highest standards. That doesn't mean I don't like them or I think they are weak. So...have a nice day and if you are on Top Gun tell my friend Bryan I said hello.

if you notice the guys in college that do the cool unassisted stunts usually aren't the best tumblers.. and also the other way around, the awesome tumblers usually tumble during the elite partner stunt sections.. Im not saying its allllllwaysss like this so props to the guys who can do both
But that would explain why in allstar cheer the co-ed partner stunts are always assisted because theres a bigger focus on tumbling n that big bulky guy throwin one arm rewinds probably isn't going to be throwin pretty toe-backs and double fulls lol There's just a different focus in skill from college cheer to allstar.
Georgia Allstars did unassisted partner stunting at NCA and then changed it for Worlds. But I see your point about the "all around" male cheerleader aspect. If GA changed they must have thought they would get better scoring by doing assisted partner stunting with more positions. I'm still impressed with the single based partner stunting. Can't change my mind about that, but if it doesn't make for a Worlds class score...then go for the 2-man "partner" stunting and get the most score out of you can. Good luck Coed team. Can't wait to see what Worlds brings this year.
The new level 5 body postition will debut December 1st. We're verrrrrrry excited about it. It's taken quite a while to perfect, but it's going GREAT! I don't know if anyone has done it before, but I have never seen it. I was just pretend partner stunting in my bathroom mirror one day and I did it... and I ran to my garage, started my car, and zoomed to the gym. I looked at my owners and said, WATCH!!! And they wereeee like..... WHHHOOOAAAAAAA. Hahahahaha... so we're doing it.
And, yes, our coaching staff comes up with all of our stunt sequences. And it's funny... most of the time it comes from hearing an amazing song, and then that brings an amazing idea. It's quite simple.
