Am I missing something?  I haven't seen any rude or hateful comments.   And I disagree that criticism is most likely from a gym who is doing poorly, I think that's a bad assumption.

Hee hee. I guess I am bad...I am not even FROM california much less Northern California. I guess I have some kind of filter because the comments that are negative, I dismiss with a grain of salt...axe to grind or whatever. I actually came on this board due to dying of boredom one day and enjoyed your spirited conversations. Some of the things that are posted as anonymous seem to be things that people want to verbalize about their gyms (or cheer parents!) and I think it is great they can. YOu can be frustrated about something and sometimes just airing it out can bring somethnig that is eating you up to reality...it's not that big of a deal or maybe it is. I see myself in many of the posts and think, so I am not alone in thinking that. I may post something I worry about...sure I could go take it to the coach, but everytime I fret about something...I'd rather not bug the coaches, not be considered gossiping in the waiting room or even think that (GAWK!) I am trying to coach or know more than the coaches. My non-cheer friends could care less...so in a wacky way...don't know you, but I do know you care about cheer and I value your input, but I can take it or leave it.

I would say the majority of the people that come on this board are parents and cheerleaders. You do not live in California, but we do. Our kids perform here and we pay for them to participate in this sport that they love so dearly. I also do believe that the negativity that is expressed on this board is unnecessary. Put it back to posting with a name. It was a kinder cheer season. People that are for the announymous posting are probably the same people that buy the Star Magazine. I fee like this is what this has become. People come on here to say such negative things about programs that have no reall meaning other than being mean and hateful. I do believe that others from out of this area come on here and read these things and must think we have LOST OUR MINDS. We have proven once again to not have the maturity to handle it

I agree with what your saying, but I'm for leaving it like it is.  What people have to learn is to ignore the negative posts.  When they don't get the response they are looking for they usually stop.  It's when you feed into it that the posts get bad.  I enjoyed the different opinions expressed by others on this board and if it was back to logging on I think the board would die a slow death again.

I dont believe it is a so vs no cal with the drama I think we have a few people that live off of drama and they live in nor cal.  They come here and put others down because they have their own issues.  Those people are also in gyms or teams doing poorly trying to bring down others.  So just ignore the rude comments and move past it knowing that it is not all no cal just a few weirdos.

Very well said.  I agree with this comment 100%.  Some people have low self esteem and they come on here to just to put down others.  This is sad because when people come here with genuine problems some times they really need help and they may accidently get dismissed.

Wow, I don't see that at all.  I know people from very successful gyms who post constructive criticism on here.  If someone posts they think a particular team is in the wrong level, the assumption is that it's from a gym who is doing poorly and wants to take out their frustrations with this other gym?  I see it as an observation, and that's all it is.   Maybe there's something to what is being said?  Maybe not.  Ifyou can't weed it all out, perhaps this board is not for you.

That was a good post whatever coach it was. i agree with it completely. and I'm from both Nor Cal and So Cal and believe me the drama is all over the place. so dont be ashamed of it. its just posted on here because this is a nor cal board it really is with the exception that OC mom posts like a mad woman and Kiara is one of the most famous cheerleaders at least on the west coast. it probably would be talked about more but this isn't too popular for So Cal families.

about cheer parents... god do i love listening to the crap that comes outta your guy's mouth in the viewing room watching your kids practice. honestly if you are a cheer parent, 99% of the time you seriously have NO IDEA what you are talking about. and if you are questioning if you're in that 1% you definately are not. honestly, i dont care how dumb you think the coaches or owners might be. let your coaches coach. dont get in the way of it. from an athletes point of view talking to coaches about their coaching is embarrassing its like your parents bringing up the sex subject in front of ALL your friends.

so lets take a step back and look at the big picture. there is no professional cheerleading organization, none of us are going to sign 3 million dollar contracts with the dallas cowboy cheerleaders. your kids career isnt going to change whether their toe touch is front in center. so just support your kid whether they have a double full or a forward roll. because to be honest my mother doesnt know the difference between the two, she just screams cuz everyone else is and her kid is on the floor.

so now i'm done being completely random lol. but really i dont mean to be THAT mean it just kills me to see parents getting overly involved to the point where it gets in the way of their child enjoying what they do. because that is really what its all about. just support your kid whatever they do.

-Alex McCarthy

The big picture?? Maybe not a 3 million dollar contract but I think a full ride cheerleading scholarship is worth mention....and the toe touch, double full, full, could make a difference in your kids career....
let's put it this way the big picture is different for everyone...and it's ok....I agree as long as we as parents are supporting our kids and they are happy in whatever they do is the most important thing on this earth!....

P.S.  I don't go to ANY practices! won't put myself through that drama...
