SOME parents.... come on

OK So today was my first day sitting in the stands as a parent and not a coach. CAN YOU SAY OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have never heard such negative things and nasty things. Did they all forget we are there for the children? i am in shock of all the nasty things said about other teams and what shocked me most was the nasty things they were saying about their own gyms! It was at one point when I had to turn around and say something, i just wanted to enjoy watching my kid perform.  how can parents put down their own gym while sitting in the stands where others can hear?

and if you can't sit with your own team's fans/parents because they are bad mouthing the gym who can you sit with?

parents lets put our energy into supporting and yelling for our kids.

I know the owners and coaches cant police them but maybe more parents should speak up when it is going on.  And I'm sorry dont take away from your children when they don't place where you believe they should''ve.  My daughters team didn't place 1st or 2nd but I was so proud of her and her team for getting through all the advesrity with sick cheerleaders and the list goes on.
But they worked hard and they deserve to hear how great they did regardless of where they place. NOW THESE SAME PARENTS WHO ARE TALKING "CRAP" IN THE STANDS  would be the same ones complaining if the coaches were saying the things they were saying to their children. I Know you guys hear me, don't you!

To all the parents, support your gym and your cooaches.  Stop all the bad mouthing in the stands.  have some fun RELAX enjoy your children....
i mean come  on we spend so much money on this sport.  And if you have a real concern, go to your gym owner next practice day and discuss your concern.

And I have a golden rule, don't say things you wouldn't want said about you, and you never know who you are sitting by when you are talking soooo negative.

even though my daughters team didnt place where most of us would've wanted I hugged my daughter told her how proud I was of her. Said they did great and asked her if she had fun! and her answer was yes

AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON AND LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS YEARbiggrin

Wow.   How unpleasant.   Hopefully that will be a horrible anomoly.  I know sometimes the people I sit with can be negative, but never on the scale that you described.

As we sat in the stands watching my daughters team perform we were surrounded by some very nice parents.  Everyone sat patiently waiting for there teams to perform and overall everyone was quite pleasant.  I heard oohs and awe's for some teams.  Everyone applauded after each team finished.  My only complaint for the day was the guy in front of me with the big head wearing what i swear was the biggest baseball cap ever know to mankind.  I found that if I sat on a slight angle leaning slightly to the left I could see just fine.  Oh and then there were those parents and kids that forgot a team was in the middle of a performance and decided to get up to go to the bathroom.  Hey when you gotta go ya gotta go right.  It was ok cause the couple next to me described to me what i missed.  Even though it was a long day I enjoyed myself.  I have to say I always do when I get to watch my kid perform.  Not to say I didn't loose my patients a little at the little kid sitting behind me, who insisted on kicking the back of my chair though out the entire competition.  When i got home I kissed my child good night tucked her into bed, and told her how proud i was of her.  I then sat down with my glass of wine and suddenly remembered there is another competition next week and that I get to do this all over again. Anyone have any extra strength tylenol???

I had a wonderful day also.  Except we must have been sitting in different a different area.  I was the one sitting in the sea of backbacks.  Not a human to be found.  Finding a seat was a bear.
